5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Memoir, July 29, 2007

This review is from: King of the Hill: A Memoir (Paperback)
Coming of Age autobiography of Hotchner as a 12 year old boy in St. Louis during the depression. Great, sad stories told perfectly. If you like this - read Bad Boy by Jim Thompson & Bound For Glory by Woody Guthrie - both take place at the same time & are equally adventuresome & sad.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for good reading. Hotchner is able to hold your attention throughout the story. He makes the 1930's a pleasure to be a part of.

Loved this book. Makes you feel like you are there. Aaron is such a strong character and comes through each crisis with such a positive attitude. Gives you such a great idea of the struggles families had during the depression and how strong that generation was. Definately reccomend this book.
