This is a compilation CD made up of tracks from previously released Delos CDs. There are brief written comments on the recording of the various instruments; however, there are no audio comments. The title might lead one to believe there is a lot of information on recording techniques, but this is not the case.

The selections are taken from Delos CDs 3023, 3028, 3045, 3047, 3048, 3075, 3076 and 3077.
