Discover the Biblical Foundations of Life in the Spirit

The Life in the Spirit Study Bible will help guide you into a Christ-centered, righteous and Spirit-led lifestyle. Previously titled the Full Life Study Bible, this new edition includes updated and expanded notes, a new word study feature, and a new interior to meet the needs of Spirit-filled Christians today. In a culture that requires believers to depend strongly on God and his Word, this Bible will help you cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the person of the Holy Spirit as the source of the Church’s power.

Features include:

Themefinders—12 icons located by Scripture passages tell at a glance which theme a given passage addresses. Themes include: Baptized in/Filled with the Holy Spirit, Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Fruit of the Holy Spirit, Healing, Salvation, Witnessing and more.

Study Notes—Updated and expanded, extensive notes offer insights that help you understand and apply the Scriptures.

Articles—77 articles address a wide variety of topics surrounding life in the Spirit.

Word Studies—This brand-new feature sheds light on the meanings of key words in their original Greek and Hebrew contexts.

Charts—5 custom-designed mega-charts visually portray "Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled in Christ," "The Kingdom of God Versus the Kingdom of Satan," "The Gifts of the Holy Spirit," "The Work of the Holy Spirit," and "The Last Days of History."

Plus—Book introductions/In-text maps and charts/Full-color map section/Concordance/Words of Christ in red/Subject and Themefinder indexes/Reading plan/Tables of contents for articles, maps and charts Wonderful as it is to be saved for all eternity, we also long to walk with the Lord today. We want to hear his voice, know his heart, receive his gifts, and participate in what he is doing. We desire what the early church had that Jesus promised would be ours as well: lives lived in the intimacy, vision and power of his Spirit.

Based on the common underpinnings of Pentecostal and charismatic traditions, the Life in the Spirit Study Bible is designed as an important Biblical resource for all Christians, regardless of church background, who long to deepen their connection with the Holy Spirit. If you are hungry for greater intimacy with Jesus . . . if what you’ve read in the Bible suggests amazing possibilities for your personal relationship with God . . . if you long to experience the message, faith, devotion and power described in the book of Acts . . . then this study Bible will help you build a bedrock of spiritual understanding and faith for living a down-to-earth life equipped with the presence of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Millions of Christians around the world continue to discover what it means to walk in the Holy Spirit’s power and presence. If that is your desire, the Life in the Spirit Study Bible will prove a valuable companion in your spiritual quest.

First published as the Full Life Study Bible, the Life in the Spirit Study Bible has enjoyed a stunning international appeal. Working together, Zondervan and Life Publishers continue to spread the message of this Bible worldwide. All author royalties go directly to missions for the purpose of translating it into other languages. At the time of this printing, well over one million copies have been printed in nine non-English languages, and the process of translation is underway for 24 other languages.

The classic King James Version (KJV) was first published in England in 1611. Commissioned by King James I, it was the achievement of nearly fifty translators, who over four years revised the Bishop’s Bible in the light of available Greek and Hebrew documents as well as other contemporary European translations. The result was the first Authorized Version, known to Americans as the King James Version. Subsequent editions, providing important corrections and standardizations, include the Cambridge edition of 1762, the Oxford edition of 1769 and Dr. F.H.A. Scrivener’s Cambridge Paragraph Bible of 1873. Zondervan uses the Scrivener edition.

I bought this Bible when it was in the hardback edition under it's older title, the Full Life Study Bible. I fell in love with it then, and alas after a while the pages began to fall out, the cover wore and I really regreted not getting the leather edition. When I started looking for it the name changed and it took a while to find it. This is the best study Bible. I love it! Now that I have the leather edition I can once more have my daily study with it as my main sorce. I have a LOT of other Bibles, but this one remains my very favorite of all time. My thanks to Zondervan for publishing it and it's editors Donald Stamps and J. Wesley Adams. It is helpful to get a historic view of the books of the bible, to get commentaries on topics, and note commentaries at the bottom of the pages to help understand certain individual scriptures.

The Life in the Spirit study bible is a wonderful bible created by and for Spirit Filled Christians. The Study Notes are in the "Pentecostal" belief system. This is great because it give you the truth in scriptures. It is also great for those who want to the know the "Pentecostal" beliefs that is express through scriptures. Every note address so many questions and teachings of the bible. Every study note is backed by scriptures Ref.So you will get scriptures to back up every teachings, etc.The articles are great. Its gear toward doctrines like the "Resurrection of the dead", and daily living practice. It contains colofull charts etc. This is a KJV study bible. Most of the time the KJV can be hard to understand because lets face it most of the "words" are not use in Modern Times and have change meanings. However this study bible breaks down almost every verse so that you can understand it. The "word studies" in this bible is great on some words. This also help you better understand certain words found in the KJV.

I have use this bible on many of my Studies and its just great. It just wonderful. This bible bring you closer to God.It make you understand things that you were "confuse" of. And with Introductions to every book of the bible, it give you a "head start" before you start reading it. I believe all Christian denominations should check this study bible. Not to "change" their beliefs systems but to equiped them in living in the Spirit, in prayer, worship etc. It can help any denominations in areas like Prayer,Fasting etc.

I just recently purchased this Bible and it is exactly what I had been searching for! Although this Bible is listed as a Pentacostal/Charismatic leaning Bible, I still found it outstanding for learning what the Holy Spirit and the Power the the Lord Jesus Christ has given me. I was raised Roman Catholic and am currently attending and planning to join the United Methodist Church, neither of which are Charismatic denominations, yet the insight and notes on the power of Faith, prayer and devotion to the Lord are applicable to all Christians.
There are certain points in the notes where I disagree with the commentators, but overall the Theology in the this book is right on target. The word breakdowns are dynamite and the 21 articles are very informative. The Book overviews are very clear and well done and the system of referncing megathemes is a great addition as well.
I bought the bonded leather version and will purchase the Top Grain leather version for Father's Day so that I can keep this in my household forever.

The KJV Life in the Spirit Study Bible, brings the meaning to a level of understanding. As it is the KJV is sometimes hard to understand, but the breakdown that is given in many parts of the texts, allows the reader to understand God's Word, while learning to understand the style of the KJV.

The Life in the Spirit study Bible is a great Bible for all ages. It's designed for Pentecostal Christians, but I believe all Christian denominations would enjoy this edition. The notes are at the bottom of each page and , therefore, easy to reference. Recommended highly.

I found this bible to be very on point and insightful. This bible has offered more study notes and commentary than any other bible I have come across and it is very detailed and organized. What I like is that it is put together with a Pentecostal viewpoint from scholars and theologians and not today's "popular preachers" like a few of the other Pentecostal versions I have come across. Some other reviewers commented on the commentary being one sided but i think they didn't realize it is written from the Pentecostal viewpoint but Being a Pentecostal I like it. However I will say that when I sit to study it is never with one bible but several different translations and I prayerfully examine each one before becoming firm in a certain position. It may sound exhausting but I like to be thorough. This bible has become one of my favorites and I definitely recommend it for everyone

I previously owned this Bible in the KJV and NIV when it was titled "Full Life Study Bible". I gave those copies (both hardcover) away. I recently purchased this updated edition in top grain leather and was not disappointed. I've owned other Zondervan Bibles in bonded leather, but there is a vast difference between the quality of bonded leather and top grain leather. It is well made, comfortable in your hand, and I'm sure will get better with age and use.
Now onto reviewing the contents - which are far more important! The text in mine is the KJV, which I prefer. The KJV translator notes are included, a plus. The cross references are plentiful, and the commentary at the bottom always supports its assertions with scripture references. The tone of the notes is primarily spiritual, as it should be, because I'm not reading God's Word as a history or literature lesson. So many Bibles today are focused on archeology, history, or humanistic agenda and niche marketing, that it is hard to find a Bible with good, spiritual commentary.
There are other pluses also: Theme Finders, full page articles on doctrinal subjects, a good subject index to the notes, a concordance, maps, and a map index. Also contained within the pages of scripture are in-text maps and charts, and detailed book introductions and outlines.
I really love the fact that this Bible was edited by a missionary with a heart for the lost and love for the Lord, Donald C. Stamps, not some theological scholar locked away in a university.
The dedication states, "On November 7, 1991, after a year-long struggle with cancer, Donald C. Stamps went to be with his Lord and Savior (Philippians 1:21,23). Though he did not live to see the complete KJV Life in the Spirit Study Bible published, he did persevere to finish writing the notes.
