From the Manufacturer

The KBP is an excellent choice for a garage or shop heater; it easily has the capacity to heat a large space. It has a flow through design which means it pulls the air from the back of the heater and discharges out the front for efficient air movement. This is a rugged heater with quality components that is suitable for commercial applications as well. It comes standard with a 3-position switch and an accurate built-in thermostat that has degrees on the label for precise temperature control. Also comes with fan delay to help dissipate the heat from the elements. This heater can be used as a portable by purchasing the K1 (120 Volt) or K2 (240 Volt) accessory kit.

I have this King KBP2406 5700 Watt space heater installed in three separate locations since 2003 and 2004.
One heats a Juliana 9 by 11 foot Greenhouse to maintain my wife's potted plants. The greenhouse is the medium thickness polycarbonate panels.
I just set the temp on this unit to 40 degrees F to keep her plants from freezing in there from October through May.
Our place is in the Northwest near Eugene, Oregon.
A second King BP2406 heater heats a 12 by 16 foot, insulated Garden Cottage.
A third unit heats my insulated single car garage. I set its temp switch to 65 degrees and it keeps the garage at no less than 63 degrees
All of these King heaters can be set to maintain a temp with their built in thermostat, or you can turn them off and on as you like and the Fan Only setting is nice in summer to just circulate the air in the room.
These King heaters are well built and durable in my opinion.
They are industrial grade construction and weigh almost 25 pounds. I've used the wall/ceiling mounting bracket they come with on each of them and mounted each on a wall at a height that I could reach the switches.
This unit comes with a 5 Year Warranty. None of them have failed, except the Thermostat in my garage unit quit working after four and a half years. I phoned King and they sent me a new thermostat kit free of charge. It was easy to install; just took a few minutes and required removing and replacing a few screws with a screw driver.I'm not certain about this, but King may have changed their Warranty to 5 years on the Heater and 2 years on the fan and thermostat. The factory thermostat kit just runs $25 to $30 and you can buy a digital, program-able thermostat for these heaters if you prefer.

Best garage heater I could imagine having. Really.

Here's the thing. Do you want to go to your garage and get from freezing cold to warm, QUICK, so you can get right to work? Then get this heater. I fooled around with baseboards, oil filled radiators, Kerosene's, and small 1500 watt fan heaters that often took hours to warm up my single car insulated garage in Spokane.

When I first turned it on (and smoked for awhile to burn off the oil on the elements), it took the temp from 45 to 65 degrees in 15 minutes, to 72 degrees in 25 minutes. So much heat you can't hold your hand right in front of it. It blows away everything else I've used and you can feel the fan all the way across the room. This is REAL heat. And fast.

Info. Hooked it up to the factory default 5700 watts, 19,454 BTU/hr (about as much as a full sized barrel-type kero heater without the fumes or price of kerosene, and heats the room better because of the forced air fan), 240 volts, used a 30 amp breaker and 10/2 wire to a clothes dryer cord/plug and receptacle. Set it on a shelf to swivel and tilt, spaced 5" from wall for safety. They recommend mounting it next to a wall and blowing across the wall for best results but I couldn't, due to shelving, space, and of course "ergonomics", so mine sits at the back in the middle of the wall blowing straight out into the room towards to doors, still works way better than I figured.

Made in Seattle, USA, high quality commercial grade parts, all metal construction, except for plastic knobs. Should last 15-20 years. I waited till March, should have put this in back in October, have no doubt this will do even when it's below zero outside. Heard other reviewers say this heater can heat a 2 or even a 3 car garage, I believe them. Small for what it does, and more money, but DARN worth it. Thanks Seattle. Thank King.

This heater rocks!...I purchased this heater to provide warmth for my 3 season porch (16x20x9) and am very impressed....We live in NH and can not typically enjoy this room past October....Our 3 season porch is enclosed by 8 sliding glass doors and is totally finished with the exception that is was not heated....I blew some cellulose insulation (R60) into the attic and was looking for a cheap solution to provide some heat so that we could enjoy this room throughout the winter....This heater easily heats the room within 30 minutes.....We have had weather in the low 20's so far and we have been able to enjoy this room like it was September ...Considering it is a garage heater, the appearance of it is not distracting as it looks like an oversized speaker....I wired a 30 amp switch before the thermostat so that I could turn the heater off when we were done on the porch yet still enable the fan to blow throughout the cool down stage....If you use the dial on the heater to turn it off, the fan will be disabled and will not be able to cool the heater down....Of course you can also turn the thermostat dial down all the way but if the temperature drops below 40 the heater will kick on....This heater does not come with a power cord, so instead of wiring a clunky dryer cord onto the unit, I wired a pigtail from the unit and made my electical connection in a junction box....This maintains a nice clean look....

So far so good. I just finished installing this heater and turned it on for the first time. Installation was straightforward but get an electrician if you don't have any experience with wiring. The fan is quiet and moves the air very well. Not sure about other heaters but this one has six heating elements, you can disconnect up to four elements for less heat output. The instructions are perfectly clear on how to do this, it tells you what size wire to use and what circuit breaker you will need and how much square footage it will heat. Since my garage has one stall and is sheet rocked and insulated I elected to use 12ga wire with a 20 amp breaker and using four elements, (disconnected two), for 3800 watts. I was impressed with the diagram provided, the wires are color coded so there was no guessing at all as to which elements to disconnect. Go to their website and you can see the manual before you buy. It comes with a built in thermostat but I purchased a separate one for the wall for ease of use since my heater is up fairly high I won't be able to reach it without a step stool. Best of all its made in USA.
UPDATE: I used this heater all winter without an issue and it worked well. It easily kept my garage above freezing in a cold climate and when I needed to raise the temp to work on my car it did not take long.
