The gospel of the Kingdom is revealed w/ eye-opening clarity,
By D. McPheeters (Tucson, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The King and the Kingdom of Heaven (Paperback)
Brother Nee follows a basic thread of understanding verse by verse through the gospel according to Matthew. This thread concerns the gospel of the Kingdom. He treats fully the proper view of the Kingdom as a reward versus the free gift of eternal life presented in the gospel of salvation (and often misunderstood in this present day). The author does not hesitate to offer all opposing views on controversial interpretaions of various passages along with step-by-step (and very logical) explanations of why they cannot be correct and the inevitable conclusion to which the reader must come. A "must have" for anyone wishing a concise and clear view that will motivate them to live fully for Christ. A great companion to those wishing to understand the book of Revelation and end-time prophecy.

This review is from: The King and the Kingdom of Heaven (Paperback)
The point of this amazing book is to have believers come out of the world system. You know, the one based on idolatry where we worship money, greedy materialism, pride, power, and self righteously hate our brother? Nee invites us to come out of the confusion and into the clarity that is the Kindgom on Heaven. He proceeds verse by verse through the Gospel of Matthew to show us that Jesus prepared for us the heavenly kindgom to live in TODAY. We can abandon the world system through simple repentance and reconciliation and come alive in that kingdom where we communicate with God, who will speak to our hearts, renew our minds, and more. The kingdom of heaven is NOT the same as the millenial kingdom.I came across Watchman Nee books in 1978. He died in China a martyr for the Christian faith. He did not write this book, but it was written by having compiled the notes from his sermons on Matthew. They were then translated from Chinese into English. His prayerful and careful scholarship will be profoundly moving and a blessing to you. It is impossible not to experience awe for the sacrifice he made for the Gospel, while I am sitting in such comfort. No matter what YOUR Christian denominational persuasion, his writing is of great benefit. His education in scriptures was quite protestant in nature and heavily influenced by the Bretheren movement; he does not share my understanding of the Theotokis, yet I have grown enormously by the generosity of him choosing to put down his own life to teach the gospel and thus enrich mine. Other books of his of great moment are also available.
