The BR is great since it includes both versions of the movie and the audio and video quality is EXCELLENT.
HOWEVER, as for extras it only includes a commentary track by Jackson and writer Phillipa Boyens (spelling?) which was pretty cool (I heard it last night) but NONE of the documentary... Read More

from what i know, its only the 1st batch of releases that come with the slipcover, once they get sold out...they are sold as it is.
and if you find them in stores...well thats just luck.

Overall the point is all the film companies are screwing everyone with these multiple releases.. the only way to get the best release is to refuse the purchase of any new DVD release for 6 months to a year after release until the "final" release is out..
