5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Recording of the King Kong Score, December 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: King Kong (1933 Film) / This Is Cinerama (1952 Film) / Death Of A Scoundrel (1956 Film) [3 on 1] (Audio CD)
I own and have listened to all the recordings of the score to the film King Kong (1933). This is simply the best of them all. Fred Steiner's recording is even superior to Max Steiner's original soundtrack recording. The CD's only shortcoming is that Fred Steiner did not record the entire score. Most of the score is here, and it is magnificent.

This recording was previously released but I couldn't get it before. That's why I'm glad to know that this magnificent score was re-recorded and is now avilable again. Fred Steiner reconstructed the score and, of course, this is the best recording ever made. Rhino and Ryko seals are trying to offer us old recordings with lots of dialogues... That's a pity.
