I recieved this game a couple days ago and this game became one of my favorate ds games because the graphics were very good and this game is also very fun. But the things that I don't like about this game is how easy it is and the weird controls when you play as Jack. But this game is excellent once you gety used to the controls as Jack. But wait for the price to go down before you buy it.

I have this game on the 360 and DS and let me tell you, it's a piece of crap on the 360. Now the DS one, now we're talking!
So with the DS, you got 2 screens, and this game puts the 2nd screen to good use! Displayed on the 2nd screen is your health and ammo! Truly innovative! And the graphics. The game may look good on the 360 but the DS version had graphics so good they rival that of the 360's I beat the 360 one in 2 days, yet I've spent 80 hours on this game! There's so much to do! Like NOT rampaging through new york as Kong! So, overall, don't waste your time with the console version. The DS version has the features of the console version and more! DS game of the year

Peter Jackson's King Kong the official game of the movie (the longest and most unnecessarily long title in video game history) has been receiving a lot of praise on its console iterations, and yet, quite often the DS and PSP versions are often overlooked. unfortunately for PSP owners, I'm only reviewing the DS version right now. Anyway, this game has received a good deal of criticism lately, and it is likely that you have read many of these reviews. But since your reading this, you are obviously still interested in this product and have seen several game play movies and the works. Basically, in my opinion, this game has been unfairly (and often) compared to its console counterparts. Likely you either own, have played, or are familiar with how good these games are. Even so, its just not fair to compare a game on the X-Box 360 to a game on the DS simply because of the huge difference in graphical and engine power. In my opinion, probably the most criticized part of this game is the graphics. In my opinion, the DS (much like the Wii) is not meant to be a graphics powerhouse, its meant to be a unique way to play hand-held games. Even so, the graphics (while not raising any bars) are actually not that bad. Sure there is the occasional muddy texture and polygon spacing but other than that, it looks fairly good. As far as sound goes, the soundtrack is actually pretty good, with some very catchy adventure themes (my favorite is the V-rex theme). The guns also sound nice considering the small speakers, and the occasional dinosaur roar is actually pretty good. However it isn't perfect, footsteps are repetitive and sound more like popping bubbles and the (rare) voice acting sounds muffled and odd.
As far as control works, jack is handled very similarly to Metroid Prime Hunters which means that although raiser sharp, players should prepare to co-laps in agony in a couple of hours. The mighty Kong also makes an appearance, however there is no stylus control to be seen. As far as game play goes, its fun, but has very little variety. Jack walks down many linear hallways occasionally stopping to help an AI partner, find a lever or (most likely) kill an enemy. Happily, Jack does star in one level where he and Ann are riding a raft down river wile you use a rifle to keep a hungry V-Rex at bay. As Kong, you spend most of the time swinging, climbing and occasionally stopping to open a door, kill a Venetasaurus, or pull open a V-rex's jaw. Most enemies as Kong don't do much damage and can be defeated in one powerful swipe. The V-rex is the sol acceptation as these large, boss-like beasts take awhile to beat. However, when you do finally down him and bust his jaw, you really do feel like Kong. Sadly, this game isn't without its problems. The game can be beaten in just a little over two hours, and the whole New York scene is just a cinematic. The in game cut scenes are just storyboard style still with text. Worst of all, Kong, probably the best part of the game, is only in four levels. In short, King Kong on the DS is a fun little game that can be easily enjoyed over a rainy day. Just be wary not to prepare for something in the line of the console versions. Graphics **** Sound *** Game play **** Replay ** Lasting appeal ****

I'll make this short. Hard and boring in the begining, but does get better the farther you get. Wierd controls for jack, you have to touch the screen to look around which tires your thumb and scratches the screen. Bad graphics. Overall: good game, but if I were you I would'nt waste my money on it.

I have to admit it was the one of the worst video games I have ever played. The only reason it got two stars was 'cause of the graphics. If you want graphics, go watch a Star Wars movie!
First of all, you don't even get to be King Kong and kill all the people. You have to be that stupid Peter Jackson, who doesn't have a gun or a knife and can't even punch. It has an unrealistic price. If you want a good DS game, I advise you to get Mario Cart DS. In other words, DON'T BUY KING KONG DS (but the movie is great)! -the pwnzor
