King of the North - Book 2 of 3 in Turtledove's FOX series,
By
This review is from: King of the North (Mass Market Paperback)
As usual, Harry Turtledove creates unusual and vivid characters in the FOX series (WISDOM OF THE FOX, KING OF THE NORTH, and FOX AND EMPIRE). KING OF THE NORTH introduces not one but two new set of gods, along with an entire new barbarian threat - the Gradi. The Fox's problem (and solution!) again lie in manipulating his enemies, and all the gods .... Fine reading for fantasy lovers and fans of Turtledove!

Great book. Start with Werenight and read the entire series, it's one of Turtledove's best.

This is not your typical fantasy. Instead it's a fun intelligent read that leaves you hungry for more

Not the best from Turtledove,

This review is from: King of the North (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't want to ruin the book so i won't get into major detail:This book had some good ideas but when you get right down to it it just another, run-of-the-mill fantasy books. He does a great job in writing all the different characters but sometimes he doesn't tell us what we want to know when we want to know it. Not a great book but he does have a lot of twist and turns in the plot to make it worth the read. |
