Works as advertised, easy installation, very quiet, and wattage options.

I upgraded from baseboard, these are a huge improvement from baseboard heaters, they heat a room up very quickly, my old baseboard heaters took so long to heat a room.

Can be heard in a quiet room but only if you really listen for it, sound very quickly fades to background noise and you forget it's there.

I did not buy this unit on amazon but I have this exact model of the King Pick a Watt heaters installed in my home. I have had them for 14 years and all of them still work. I upgraded from baseboard, these are a huge improvement from baseboard heaters, they heat a room up very quickly, my old baseboard heaters took so long to heat a room. The real trick to these heaters is make sure nothing is in front of the air flow. I think the package says don't put anything closer than (so many inches away) but I can tell you don't even put something 3 feet away. Not because of a fire hazard but because it will severely limit heat distribution in the space you are using it for. Even something 6 feet into the room may impede the circulation. In almost every room save one or two I have arranged my furniture accordingly and it makes a vast difference.

They typically run quiet with a little white noise of the fan circulating. They shouldn't be noisy. I had a couple like that when they were first installed and you have to adjust the fan unit a little because sometimes the fan unit can rub and it will be a lot noisier. Keep them clean, too. Take the grill off every couple of months and vacuum them out and clean the dust off the grill.

Another piece of advice is pick out a good thermostat that you can wire to these heaters. Mine operate independently and that is my only regret. I am seriously considering installing a good thermostat just because it is a waste of energy if you are not there to shut it off manually when the room reaches the desired temperature. And its a hassle to manually turn each one off an on when you are using it. These are a very inexpensive solution, if you can cut the sheetrock and mount and wire them yourself you will save even more. With a good thermostat and setting the wattage to the space you are using it for they can be fairly cost effective to run.

This heater is very efficient and doesn't use as much energy as electric baseboard heaters. A little more money but worth the price.

We bought this together with a King thermostat as an additional heater for our kitchen. The existing baseboard heater was very insufficient.

We are very happy with the heater and the thermostat. The heater puts out a great deal of heat and gets the temperature of the room elevated very quickly. It is a little noisier than we would like but not really unacceptable.

We built our own enclosure for this. We made a little door that opens up, and matches the rest of the surrounding woodwork. So we did not use the white grille that comes with the heater. King sell several configurations. You can get the heater with the grille and motor but without the wall can (which is a necessity) but you cannot get the motor and the wall can without the grille. I think King should offer that configuration.

We had these heaters professionally installed 2 and 1/2 years ago. I thought they would look better than the baseboard heaters, which they do, but the noise they make far outweighs their asthetic looks. I wrote this review because we are looking to replace them as one of them still heats, but the cage blower stopped working, of course making it quite a fire hazard. I think we will change to the in floor heating and would not put these in again, unless they came up with a quiter model.

I'm currently doing some home remodelling and decided to upgrade my secondary heat source. My primary heat is wood and someone back down the line put in baseboard heat that has never worked properly. The King PAW heater provides a simple method of installing some relatively effective zone heating that is thermostat controlled in the different rooms of my house and also allows me to select the wattage needed for each room.

For new construction, these heaters would be easily installed, remodelling would be a bit more difficult unless you have an unfinished basement area to allow you to get the wiring to the correct section of wall to place the unit and get the power or if you are removing the drywall (which I am not) then the installation would be as simple as new construction.

For my purposes, these units are great . . . much better than baseboard and contrary to some reviews I have read, these could be used as a primary heat source with no problems. I highly recommend them.
