This is the authoritative book on the pedestrians. A well-research manuscript that provides all the information and intrigue a reader would want to glean about the sport that captured the attention of the Americans and Europeans in the mid-late 19th century.
What is more, this book is very well written, replete with vivid descriptions of the As You Go races, and Weston's seemingly impossible feats. All in all, this is a first-rate book that I strongly recommend to sports' enthusiasts, those interested in the history of sports, and those who appreciate walking and running. |
