5.0 out of 5 stars This book gives direction to what really happened
Princess Di was a stunning person, always seen in the press. After reading this book I can see the otherside of the coin, that she had mental health issues. These issues have been addressed by the author well, while he pulls no punches, he does talk about her fragile mental state as well. I would recomend this book to anyone who has intrest in Princess Di or the English...

3.0 out of 5 stars Americans Beware
I know there are many sides to this story. I admit I tend to see the maddening narcissism built into the royal system as driving Diana to behave in ways that may seem pathological until you understand the utter loneliness and desperation of a very young woman.
The author writes for UK daily mail which I subscribe to for laughs. It is a tabloid rag just right of rush...

1.0 out of 5 stars The King and Di, The True Story by Howard Hodgson, January 17, 2012

This review is from: The King and Di: The True Story (Paperback)
This so called True Story is a sick joke, First off Diana was not married to the KING, so the title is a lie, and it gets

worse from there. This person waits until she's dead and can't say anything to defend herself, and then he calls her a whore, a liar, and insane, while Charles is written up as Mr. Perfect, who stood by his wife until her affairs drove him back to his first love. I sincerely hope that Prince Charles wasn't behind this monstrosity, but whoever was, just remember that what goes around comes around, and this trash should be dumped into the laps of anyone and everyone that had anything to do with it. There is no doubt that Princess Diana wasn't perfect, but at least the things that she said, the Prince was given an opportunity to respond to. As for you Mr. Hodgson, you should be ashamed of every word that you wrote.

2.0 out of 5 stars the King and who?, November 10, 2010
I thought this book was supposed to be about the Prince AND Princess of Wales. Instead we get page after page lauding Charles and his issues with Thatcher and inner city projects. While his efforts were laudable this has nothing to do with the subject of the book. The author who is British must be looking for a knighthood in this one sided and totally boring book. He certainly avoids Diana's contributions nicely but after all she is dead and can't do anything for him. Totally false representation of this book. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, May 29, 2011

How nice to finally read the truth about Diana. Yes, she handled her job beautifully, and brought happiness to many people. But she also told monstrous lies to her children and to the press, manipulated people without caring about the consequences, and thought that she was the center of the entire universe. 'Fantastic Mothers', (AM), do not try to keep children from their fathers, (unless their fathers are completely unsuitable, which Charles clearly wasn't), they do not tell lies to their children about their father either. Princesses who are 'Living Saints', (AM), do not sleep around with so many men they are uncountable, and they certainly don't take their lovers to their homes with their children. Charles' affair with Camilla did not start until after Diana had begun her own saga of unfaithfulness, which makes Charles' record look like a Boy Scout's account. This book makes you feel sorry for Diana for she did have serious mental problems, and though I doubt she could have been helped, at the time nobody knew quite what to do with her. But that does not excuse Andrew Morton, (AM), and her other 'apologists' for publishing her lies as 'Her True Story' or trying to rewrite the truth. When Diana was well, she was capable of great good. I'm just sorry she was ill for so much of her life that is seems her lies will eventually undo all her good.
