Volume 2!! I loved this cartoon as a kid!!!,

This show was GREAT entertainment for Kong lovin' kids! I have many happy childhood memories of Kong's animated adventures as he battled the sinister Doctor Who. It was a fantastic idea for a cartoon. What kid didn't want a big friend like Kong? It was always fun watching these Kong cartoons and I'm thrilled they are now on DVD!

Cant wait for Volume 3,

It sure is great to have this show back. Great Show. But when is volume 3 coming out? Volume 2 stops just short of the first episode with the Mechanikong robot. There will be a volume 3? wont there? Oh probably not. Since there is no big hollywood movie to cash in on. I guess its back to bootlegs for all of us Kong Cartoon fans.

Where is volume 3?,

They've got to put out a volume 3.
I strongly recomend that you buy this great show. It was the first american show animated in Japan. If you like it, you will also enjoy KING KONG ESCAPES. I also recomend GODZILLA, THE ORIGINAL ANIMATED SERIES Vol.1 and 2, You may also like ULTRAMAN II (animated) You might even like KONG: KING OF ATLANTIS PLease try to avoid ULTRAMAN vol. 1 from BCI/BRENTWOOD It is awful and of bootleg quality.

I really enjoyed this cartoon on Saturday mornings back in the mid 1960s. And who wouldn't like Tom of T.H.U.M.B. Anyway, they did a good job restoring both the audio and video on these cartoons. I liked it better when I was a kid, but it was fun to see it again after almost 40 years. And you can't beat the price.

I had almost forgotten this animated series even existed. I enjoyed it when I was young. When I found it at Amazon, I purchased it. Now me and my grandson enjoy watching both the Vol. 1 and 2 together. Only drawback is that the originai pilot was a two parter and one part is in Vol 1 and the other part in Vol. 2. Good deal for the money and brings back a lot of memories. Now my grandson and I are making new ones.

Where the heck is Volume 3 for crying out loud?,

Obviously, there will be no volume 3. The executive at the company behind the release of these DVDs has probably forgotten all about KING KONG and is looking for something else that is current to cash in on. Ive been buying videos of classic shows for far too long and I know what it means to get skewered. Anyone out there owning Ultraman volume 1 on VHS, The Speed Racer or Battle of the Planets DVDs, the Buck Rogers set that is missing the first two episodes, the Twin Peaks season 1 box or any of the impossible to see and horribly edited releases of Star Blazers knows exactly what I am talking about. Sqeeze 'em out fast, make the quick buck, and vanish into the night like a filthy mugger is the MO of the video producer folks. Sorry to say it. Maybe they will surprise me this time, but I doubt it. My bet is we've all just been mugged.

Surprisingly Poor DVD Release, Vol. 2,
By fredtownward "The Analytical Mind; Have Brain... (Mocksville, North Carolina, United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)

In an obviously crass attempt to force King Kong fans to buy both disks, the pilot, which was later split into two episodes, is divided between the two volumes, with only the second half on this disk and the first half on King Kong, Vol. 1 (Animated TV Series). Worse, episode 5 is missing both its Coming Attractions and its End Credits, and Episode 7 is missing its Coming Attractions.
All in all a rather shabby presentation of a long, long, LONG awaited DVD release.

When this was on TV my whole world was Saturday Morning Cartoons and Captain Crunch Cereal. Now don't get me wrong I still love Captain Crunch and even though the episodes are only 10 minutes long it's a wonderful 10 minutes. Also this is worth buying for the theme song; alone.
