The cable and packaging all note cat6, but I could not get the link on my server to 1000mbps, even on a forced speed. I was also having problems with losing connection on the server. I switched to another cat6 cable I have and 1000mbps came right up. I have the server next to the HTPC, and both 50' cables going to the gigabit switch. I waited a week to confirm, and it just kept coming up at only 100mbps. Pretty disappointed, especially since this cable was only $4.50 shipped. I'll keep it for my old school HTPC that only has a 10/100 NIC, but I won't be buying any more Kingwin ethernet cables. I guess if a deal is too good to be true it probably is.
