About the Author

Marie Hall has always had a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones. Which is why she married one. On top of that she's a confirmed foodie, she nearly went to culinary school and then figured out she could save a ton of money if she just watched food shows religiously! She's a self-proclaimed master chef, certified deep sea dolphin trainer, finder of leprechaun's gold at the end of the rainbow, and rumor has it she keeps the Troll King locked away in her basement. All of which is untrue, however, she does have an incredibly active imagination and loves to share her crazy thoughts with the world!

More About the Author

Marie Hall is a NY TIMES and USA Today bestselling author who loves books that make you think, or feel something. Preferably both. And while she's a total girly girl and loves glitter and rainbows, she's just as happy when she's writing about the dark underbelly of society. Well, if things like zombies, and vampires, and werewolves, and mermaids existed. (Although she has it on good authority that mermaids do in fact exist, because the internet told her so.)

She's married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk. She has two awesome kids, lives in Hawaii, loves cooking and occasionally has been known to crochet. She also really loves talking about herself in the third person.

I wish I had gotten the sample for this before I purchased it. There's a certain type of female lead that just doesn't appeal to me and that's the feather brained, one note, too stupid to live women that take up a fair portion of romance books. It's so disappointing and so irritating to read about someone with only one thing to say about men because of one bad experience. It's like reading adolescent fiction where a person can't take the whole of life's experiences to inform them.

I haven't been able to read the entire book. I just started with the 2nd story but I don't think I can finish it because, who on earth would take a homeless man back to their home just because they were hot? Authors, please give your readers some credit.

Other people will really enjoy this book. I just like better characters and better plots.

The first Marie Hall book I ever read was Her Mad Hatter. Here is the review I wrote, "A delightful adult paranormal version of Alice in Wonderland. Enjoyed Marie Hall an author I have never read before. Her writing style is captivating and keeps you entertained. Her character development is in-depth and has you falling in love with all the characters she depicts in her story - Alice, Mad Hatter and Danika the fairy. Highly encourage you to read this book."

I decided to continue the adventures of Danika and her bad boys so I purchased the Kingdom Collection books 1 - 3. I rarely purchase books since there are free ones available. I only do when I really, really, really want to read more of the series or author. I was extremely disappointed in books 2 & 3. In my opinion, because that is what a review is an opinion, I felt that the books deviated from her original which was a mix of laugh out loud digs at fairy tales with a modern, paranormal twist. There was hardly any character development which I found annoying and the books where getting darker and darker with the fairy tale concept just thrown in.

I have decided to cease reading the series also because of a sneak peek at the end of one of them. I still highly encourage you to read Her Mad Hatter as a stand alone book.

It was okay. Not great but not bad. Having the recipes at the end of each book was fun and I plan on trying a couple of them. If sex offends you don't read the book. I liked the characters, just got tired of all the heavy breathing.

I thought my hunts were futile. Being a devourer of books, most authors can't keep up with me. With the introduction of my kindle, it's worse. I can inhale books in a few hours even though it took the authors sometimes years to complete. Most of my authors press out their new works starting in April. By summer, the fields are dry. The hunt beings to find books that interest me. I read reviews and shake my head at everyone being an editor! I have no idea why people pay attention to misspelled words and run on sentences. Or critic books like they are some high class officiary of the English language. Give it a rest. You didn't get pet enough as a child and you need to feel special. Stop taking it out on artists. You can't judge art! Books are interactive works of art. The author presents the canvas and tools. Your own mind creates the opus!
I found this collection after a long line of clicks and disappointments. And I was amazed. We all know the classics. We read them, or watched them as children and loved them. Now we keep them in our homes for the munchkins to view when they visit. But that is the problem. We are grown. True Love's Kiss is no longer sex in our eyes. We've been kissed and know there is more. A lot more, and we love it, crave it, and seek it out. Your search is over.
What if the crazy Mad Hatter was a slick seducer of the senses? What if the Beast wasn't as perfect as we were made to believe? And lastly, what if the Big Bad Wolf devoured his prey in a more sinister fashion?
Curious? You should be.

I originally downloaded 'Her Mad Hatter' as it was free and looked interesting. Once I finished it, I was hooked! Ms Hall has done a wonderful job of recreating these stories.

"Crazy had never been so yummy!" What the? I honestly tried to get through this, but I had to force myself to turn the page. If this wasn't free I would demand a refund.
Thoughts on the first book:
"A old-fashioned romance." That's what the description claimied and that's what I wanted. What I got was a sex-obcessed Jinny Deep fanfiction. The characters were underdeveloped, using madness as an excuse, and the plot was the same tried immortal story. He was in love with a woman, she betrayed him, years later he meets her descendant, and he has to deal with trust issues. Isn't this the plot of Inuyasha? Anyway, I could forgive the lazy plot if the author had brought something new to it, her own twist. She didn't. Another
quick thought, did Alice have any personality traits at all? Oh wait! She was pretty, weird, and liked Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I am now a hundred percent addicted to the steamy and enchanting works of Marie Hall. I simply adore her Kingdom series and while it can be said that Ms. Hall‘s series is very similar to Mercedes Lackey‘s Five Hundred Kingdoms series, Ms. Hall breaths new life into the fairy tale world concept and does the whole thing even better than Ms. Lackey ever did, in my opinion anyway. Just the right amount of heat and whimsy. Highly recommended to those who like their fairy tales with an adult twist.
