Áwesome for Geronimo Fans New and Old, November 26, 2009
This review is from: The Kingdom of Fantasy (Geronimo Stilton) (Hardcover)
As I live in Australia I received this a few weeks ago so have had time to savour it with my kids (ages 5 and 9). In short...its a fantastic book!
The book stands out becasue it is larger than the normal Geronimo Stilton books, with a hardcover and stitched binding. I have friends who had never heard of Geronimo Stilton and were drawn to the book's cover and format (regardless of their age).
The story centres around Geronimo's journey across 8 different kingdoms in The Kingdom Of Fantasy to rescue Blossom The Queen of the Fairies.
On his journey, he meets witches, mermaids, dragons, giants, gnomes, pixies, fairies and a menagerie of wonderful (and sometimes scary) characters and makes a number of new friends. Each kingdom has its own unique inhabitants, along with a signature color, gemstone, metal and musical note. There is also a unique task Geronimo and his friends must perform in order to progress to the next Kingdom.
There are puzzles, secret codes to decipher, heaps of maps and fact-files on the kingdoms. This makes the book last longer than the first read.
I'm sure this book will be a treasured part of our family for years to come.
Well done Scholastic, Edizioni Piemme and Geronimo Stilton!

What a fun book!, February 18, 2010
This review is from: The Kingdom of Fantasy (Geronimo Stilton) (Hardcover)
I bought this at my son's school bookfair, and both of my son's (5 & 7) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We've never read Geronimo Stilton books before, so I can't compare it to any others, but we'll certainly try some others now. The book is large, much bigger than the normal children's book, but it was an easy read. It is split up into numerous chapters, but each are only a few pages which makes it a great bedtime book because you can read a few chapters each night. The pages were colorful, the adventures were full of mild danger but not scary, and it included some factual data. It takes Geronimo through fantasy lands full of fairies, wiches, dragons, etc to fulfill a quest. Very cute!

Fantastic book for 11 year old with BIG reading problems., February 1, 2010
This review is from: The Kingdom of Fantasy (Geronimo Stilton) (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my 11 year old grandson who is in 5th grade and has a very difficult time reading and thus does not attempt to read on his own. This book has had him glued to the chair and reading for an hour at a time. He loves the pictures, the puzzels and the excitment of the "bad" characters. Don't let the poor reviews discourage you from purchasing this book, I found it great for the older child who can't quite read at grade level.
