More About the Author

Outdoor sports journalist and guidebook writer Dan Bailey has a passion for the world's wild steep places. He has hiked, climbed and occasionally hobbled in mountains across five continents (who's counting?), though he still maintains that the hills of home are tops. Producing words and pictures for the travel and outdoor media is more a lifestyle than a living, but then no one in their right mind would give him a proper job anyway. Dan and his frankly rather gorgeous other half enjoy life in their exclusive beach-side villa on the Costa del Fife, with a garden full of ducks and the majestic Scottish Highlands just down the road. Their uber-sophisticated chic-ironic haggis, neeps and tatties soirees are legendary in Fifeshire high society.
