5.0 out of 5 stars Best book series. EVER!
These books are amazing! It's a bit different than the video game, but it's still terrific! If your a fan of Final Fantasy, Disney, or both, you'll totally love it! The story starts with three friends named Sora, Riku, and Kairi, that all live on the Destiny Islands. They all are trying to find a way off the island to try and discover new worlds, when one night they get...

3.0 out of 5 stars Unintelligible
Kingdom Hearts, which brings together characters from Squaresoft's Final Fantasy series and Disney's various cartoons, is probably one of the strangest and most ambitious projects in video game history. It's easy to see how Shiro Amano got the task of creating the manga adaptation; his renderings of both the Disney and Final Fantasy characters are flawless...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
These books are amazing! It's a bit different than the video game, but it's still terrific! If your a fan of Final Fantasy, Disney, or both, you'll totally love it! The story starts with three friends named Sora, Riku, and Kairi, that all live on the Destiny Islands. They all are trying to find a way off the island to try and discover new worlds, when one night they get their wish. A storm hit the islands and now they are all sent to different worlds. Now Sora must fight with Donald Duck and Goofy to save the worlds, find Kairi, bring Riku back from the darkness, and find King Mickey. It's so awesome, you should buy it now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kingdom Hearts, January 13, 2007

The manga is quite in keep with the game, and I believe it is well worth taking a look at it, should one be a fan of the series. I am looking forward to the release of the second installment of Chain of Memories, as well as the KH2. The only con was that the battles were somewhat short (in compariason to the game).

5.0 out of 5 stars Kingdom Hearts ... what more do you want?, February 12, 2007
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
Ok firstly this comic book is based on the popular PS2 video game Kingdom Hearts, now that we got that out of the way, that's what it is. KINGDOM HEARTS, no more no less. I personally didn't find any extra cookies conserning the which I must admit is one of the reasons that I bought this comic. All in here can be found in Kingdom Hearts or in Kingdom Hearts II, from slightly more insight on the Ansem's Report is all I got out of this, but none the less a great experience once again. If you love the game and become an aficionado like myself a recomentdation is all I can give you get this manga.

Secondly this manga is preety childish, even excluding the fact that it is partly based on Disney stories, still pretty kiddy. Nicely said by the rating A for all ages. so if you are an aficionado of Kindom Hearts and didn't think that you are too manly for the game then you are not too manly for the manga trust me. KINGDOM HEARTS COMPACT TO FOR READING PLEASURE

5.0 out of 5 stars Dude, if you like kingdom hearts buy this now!!!, January 15, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
Dude, I got this for christmas, and it's heck of awsome! I love reading these books whenever I crave the sensation of reading manga. the books are fun although there are some nerdy jokes that you need to have played the game bafore. it has some elements of final fantasy, too. the only real problem i have with this book is that even though it's translated into english, the sound effects, such as when the rocket ship lifts off, are still in japenese. these books are great, the idea of mixing disney and final fantasy is weird, but also realy cool. BUY IT NOOOOW!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars No Bookmark or Poster?, March 21, 2007
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
My son was very excited to get this set of books. However, the bookmark and poster that were promised in the ad didn't come with it. Very disappointing - Amazon is usually great about this stuff. I'm not returning it because I'd have to pry them from my son's hands...but sad, sad that they ripped off a child.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good manga, but needs more action scenes, October 24, 2009
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
This manga is good but it needs more action scenes. It also needs to be a little longer because it doesn't have the parts of the game where Sora and his friends fights Hades and his minions and the parts where Sora goes to Halloween Town and fight Fight Oogie Boogie and his minions. This manga also needs more comedy, there's not enough of it.

Despite these flaws, this game is good but needs to spend more time in development. It's a good video game based manga, but its not as good as the game its based off of, a.k.a. "Kingdom Hearts" (for the PS2). This manga is definitely worth reading, I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get what you pay for., July 26, 2008
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts Boxed Set--vols 1-4 (v. 1-4) (Paperback)
I'll start off by saying if this had cost any more than it does I would have been extremely dissapointed. I paid $25 at a Virgin Megastore, and after finishing this thought it could have been a little less [I think the Amazon price is fair.].

I picked this up more to just refresh my memory on the great game I had played 3 years ago, and to catch me up before I dove into KH2 [sold my ps2 before I could play it, and just acquired one :D]. In short, it did exactly what I wanted, but I could see other people putting it off. I finished the entire series in about an 90 minutes, with a short nap in there. This story is RUSHED, a lot of corners were cut, and to someone that has never played this game, they might not want to. Character development that is present in the game is not here at all.

For a book by book review, just go look at each one, they are pretty accurate. But in general, this is just to rushed for anyone that has not played the game to enjoy. I say go buy the game, its cheaper, and you wont regret it. The story is just phenomenal, dont skimp on it.
