5.0 out of 5 stars 9 year old boy
Kingdom Keepers is an excellent book for kids and adults. It helps you imagine yourself in the Walt Disney World Resort getting involved in the story. Fabulous plots and the kids love to read them. Can't wait for the next edition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better then the 2nd but still Disappointing (Spoilers)
The 3rd book in the series was a notable improvement from the 2nd one. The characters were more developed (although they still act like stereotypes) and the description is more vivid then the second one. This book did not feel as rushed as the second one did, and was more evenly paced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kingdom Keeper series, May 17, 2010

This is a great series for kids and adults. My daughter and I have both read all 3 books and can't wait for the next one! She also used each of the three books in the series for her oral reports at school. Since there are so many threads in the story, as well as lots of action, it made for great presentation material.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better then the 2nd but still Disappointing (Spoilers), August 6, 2010

The 3rd book in the series was a notable improvement from the 2nd one. The characters were more developed (although they still act like stereotypes) and the description is more vivid then the second one. This book did not feel as rushed as the second one did, and was more evenly paced.
That being said, Pearson continues to solely rely on Maleficent and her robotic pawns. Besides the addition of the snake Gigabyte (and a brief appearance by Stitch), there are no new villains to add to the roster in the book. Which is sad considering the fact that the author has so many to choose from.
And overall, there isn't a change in the plot (Major Spoilers Ahead) The kids find Wayne, Maleficent and Chernabog are captured and its basically back to square one. The only difference being that Flynn now has a sword (which may be the Sword in the Stone, which would show rare foresight on the authors part.)
Villains aside, the characters don't even meet any Disney heroes! Despite the fact that they are in a world where the bad guys always loose, they have yet to meet any Disney heroes. Goofy, Chip, Dale and Tom Sawyer were seen by Flynn in the first book...and that was it. In the third book all that is given to them is a mention of Mr. Potato Head liking to mess with people, and Tigger spying on another villain (not seen but mentioned, which alludes to the good characters working against the villains. Here's hoping that Mr. Pearson is showing some foresight here)
Better then the second, but still not as good as the first. Here is hoping for a better fourth.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't get much worse, October 18, 2011

This book is full of fallacies and gaping logic holes. Even if you follow the physics and logic of the book, it contradicts its self. If the security guards know the characters are alive, why do the not know about the evil ones? If Mickey is more powerful than Malificent, why are the pre-teen kingdom keepers hiding from Disney and defeating the villains instead of the vast cannon of Disney heros? Why are the Keepers invisible when they need to be, but aren't in air ducts, back stage and places they never belong?

The first two books were okay, they had a suspension of disbelief, but this books just makes stuff up as it goes.

It is ill paced, taking way too long to set the story up.

The clues they follow only make sense to the characters.

The action isn't clearly described but rushed over.

This book, overall, is very poorly constructed and sucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars inspirational, May 6, 2010

This is the first mega book read by my 3rd grader. How inspirational to have the web site, videos and theme park tie in!!! Excellent partnership with Ridley and Disney! GENIUS!!!
PS I did NOT notice any objectionable slang, but instead motivated, engaged heroes that work together in a real life magical place.

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, April 18, 2011
By
We've read this series aloud as a family, and this by far was the worst in the series (so far). I really don't think we'll read the 4th one. We got the impression that the book was rushed to publishing. The editorial errors in this book are inexcusable and made the process of reading this dull 3rd installment even more irksome. The plot was lumbering compared to the others, and we had a more difficult time recreating this one in our imaginations. Honestly, I haven't really loved the entire series, but the kids and hubby liked the first two...but every time we went to read this we all groaned. It took forever to finish as a read aloud, since no one was excited about it...but we persevered and got it over with in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Series, December 16, 2011
This is the third book in the KK series. Knowledge of Walt Disney World is very useful so that visualization of events is possible. 3rd book is a continuation of the 2rd since it left you hanging (boo), but hopefully this has a good ending.

Ordered this book a second time for a friend. Awesome storyline if you are a Disney fan. Even if you are not. Couldn't put it down.
