A Kingdom for Keflings is a fantastic game that will keep you involved for hours. The first thing you notice is the awesome music that begins before anything else. The gameplay, while simplistic, does keep you moving on to the next thing. You never want to seem to stop as you just want to get one more building.

I downloaded this the first day it was available and have played it for many, many hours. If you're looking for a nice relaxing game to play that you can jump in for five minutes or five hours, give A Kingdom for Keflings a go!

You remember all those RTS games where you had to build up your city and then defeat other factions that were doing the same thing? Take out the other teams, and you get "A Kingdom for Keflings," a sort of very-dumbed-down SimCity that is easy to pick up and fun to play.

You play as either your avatar (or one of four pre-set generic avatars) and take the role of a giant who guides a village of little people to build a castle. It sounds simple because it is, and that makes this an excellent choice for kids - easy to pick up with no mature content to speak of (well, you can kick the little people, but they react more like soccer balls than people when kicked).

A great feature of this game is that you can take it in small doses. If you only have five minutes to kill, you can throw this on, play it and actually get something accomplished in that sort time.

The single-player game can be beat in about 2-4 hours. Halfway through you get to choose between a trader market and a gypsy market, each of which gives you the ability to build unique buildings. So after two complete playthroughs, you've already seen all there is.

The multiplayer is just the single-player campaign with the addition of three more players helping the host build up their map. There is the addition of the "banner tower," basically a tower with the player's Gamer Picture on it. These towers are essentially for 20G worth of achievements (the other 180G can be had in one single-player playthrough).

This game is good for what it is, and is great for kids, but adults will find this more of a time-killer than a full-fledged game. Not that that's a bad thing...

I bought this game because it was on sale the week of this review for Gold Members on XBox Live for half price ($5). If I had to pay $10, I probably wouldn't have ever bought it.

The game is fun enough. Think of it like Age of Empires without any other empires. You have to gather resources with your little Keflings so that you can build more stuff so you can get more people so you can build more stuff and so on. They harvest Wool, Wood, Stone, Gems and turn them into resources for you. Your Avatar walks the world as a giant. You can choose to harvest, move stuff, etc and you are required to build each building from smaller parts (a house needs a bedroom, storage and a hearth, for instance). The point of the game is to get to the end of the game. That's it. There isn't a win - loss scenario in the single player game. So if you liked the city building aspect of Age of Empires then you will enjoy this game, too. It's great for killing time.

But if you want to be challenged, then you either have to buy the add-ons ($2 each), play online (for limited challenge,) or you'll get bored pretty quickly after you play through once or twice. I enjoy this game. I am someone who likes to chill and create a town (and paint the houses different colors, build statues and plant trees in the shapes of animals, etc.) But this is a diversion at most for most adults.

I bought this game a few weeks ago and I have to say I really like it. I love having my avatar walking around cutting down trees or stripping sheep of their wool. I really like that there's no time limit or play by play thing. You can pretty much do what you want in the order you want, which is cool.

The game has decent graphics and a great idea: take control of a giant (your avatar) and command a bunch of smaller people to do your bidding. At first building a building after another was interesting and fun, but as the town increased in size buildings got more and more complicated to build. So you spent most of your time micromanaging the Keflings or manually moving resources from one building to another. Once you have all the resources you have to manually move each building part from the modular construction location to the spot that you want the building to be built. Very tedious. There is very little extra content to do in here except kicking keflings and some side quests to gather a special item to upgrade your giant. I do not think that this game is worth ten dollars of value.
