This is an amazing in depth look into cults of today what makes them a cult with great research into their history the flase claims/prophecies. This should be owed by every true Christian who wants to defend the faith!!! Since sins can only be forgiven by God and Jesus forgave sins then who must Jesus be? Read the book to find out!!!

I found this book informative, having limited knowledge of the religions discussed beforehand. The book is definitely written from an evangelical standpoint and is bias in this regard. Also, please note the table of contents. The book spends an inordinate amount of space covering Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, and Seventh-day Adventism. I recommend this book for evangelical Christians and those of other religions interested in their viewpoint.

I read this book because I have a sister who has left the christian faith and has become a Jehovah's Witness. I had previously read many books and materials about JW's but this was the best book ever. It was comprehensive in it's addressing all the issues of the JW's beliefs and gives scripture references to show the errors of their beliefs. It was so compelling I purchased three more to give to my sister and her two sons. I figured that if her two sons are reading this book she may read it also.
Great Book!

I gave it 5 stars because of the exhaustive content, not because it's a "fun" book to read, it's not a novel, it literally reads like an encyclopedia giving dates, history, background etc. into who started different cults around the world, what they believe and numbers of followers. Good reference guide though, plus Walter Martin is totally cool, he was a forerunner for some of todays more popular apologists. Check out some video online of Walter Martin speaking, he was a great, humorous communicator.

If you are int-rested in finding out hidden truths about different religions, I strongly advise looking at the perspectives of scholars who study them for a living. There is a lot of great information.
