This review is from: The Kingdom and the Power (Paperback)
This work has a variety of contributors all providing the case that the miraculous, i.e. the supernatural, should naturally accompany the presentation of the power of the Gospel. A good position is built that spiritual gifts like prophecy, healing, tongues, and the casting out of demons should be expected today just as it existed in the early church.

I greatly appreciated this work because I felt like it approached topics that I was not exposed to in my seminary training. I would greatly advocate this book for anyone that has wrestled with the Western mindset that is heavily dependent on the scientific, for answers, for concrete explanations. This is a great book to read as a follow-up to time spent in the Book of Acts.

The appendices are just as interesting as some of the chapters. I enjoyed some of the practical sections on a methodology of prayer for healing and dealing with demons.

The downside to the book is that the same material is covered multiple times. The variety of authors utilize some of the same argumentation, the same Scripture, and same ground. If it would have been one author, I believe the book could have been half the size.

Overall, I highly enjoyed it and would recommend it for anyone who has questioned: Is healing for today? Is the casting out of demons for today? (And if so, what does this warfare look like?) Is the miraculous to accompany today's preaching as it did Jesus', Paul's, Philip's, Stephen's, etc.?
