I've got all 3 Series (my lovely husband bought a region-free player for me so I could see Series 1 and early Doc Martin releases) and have watched them at least half dozen times already. Look for Oliver and James Phelps of Harry Potter fame to guest star as Karl Davies brothers in an episode.
I would highly recommend this Series to anyone. It is unbelievably good television. Excellent writing, the locations are breathtaking and dialogue is clear and (for the most part) easy to understand - there are a few guest stars with regional accents. The cast is a dream to watch - quickly making it seem impossible we are not simply watching them live their lives. Each actor thoroughly inhabits the skin of the character; even those in the peripherals of the show (ie, Tony Slattery). Give it a go, you will fall in love with Kingdom & Kingdom, et al.

I am addicted to this series about a soft spoken english country solicitor, living in a sea side town and the often comical and poignant challenges he faces as he deals with the country folk he has chosen to live with.

This is a wonderful 3 season series, and a must for any Stephen Fry fan. This last season was a little more free-form, and the Peter Kingdom character is even more the observer and less the protagonist than in series 1 and 2. Set in fictional seaside Market Shipborough, Kingdom's small troupe of actors play out their final season with fine performances surrounded with plenty of that quaint ambiance one might expect in this modern day UK Mayberry-by-the-Sea.
The region 1 DVD of series 3, manufactured in Canada in Widescreen format, is in mono. No stereo! Why is that? Both series 1 and 2 are in stereo, and more enjoyable for that reason.
