I've never read much before about Nepali politics and history, other than news articles, so this book was a fantastic introduction. Thapa lays out a timeline of events from ancient to recent history. Also helpful were the original documents of demands by the Maoists, as well as a solid recounting of their grievances and Nepal's dilemmas. Very worthwhile.
