5.0 out of 5 stars A new Robert Stanek fan...
I'm not usually a fantasy kind of reader. Bringing together adventure, action and a good mystery....that hooked me.

I like to try to guess the plot twists of a novel ahead of time. R. Stanek throws just enough of a curveball to keep you guessing though. I'm reading the whole series a second time just to better catch all the little details tossed in a long...

1.0 out of 5 stars INCOMPLETE books
I have downloaded all 4 "books" in audio form and the result has been very frustrating. Each "book" is in fact an episode, not a story. After 4 "books" the story is nowhere near complete, and large sections of the plot are still unresolved.

Why don't the publishers state that after 4 books you have to go to YET ANOTHER book in YET ANOTHER series to find out...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Kingdoms and the Elves is the best series out there!, February 4, 2006
A Kid's Review
Step aside Harry and Frodo, you've got company. Okay. I must admit I was doubtful of the whole Kingdoms and the Elves craze for a long time. Two years, in fact. I suppose I just put them out of my mind. After all, why would I read some just another version of, say, Tolkien or Rowling? I don't think I've ever quite regretted doing something so much. This book right here is probably the best of them all, from the start to exciting (and satisfying and suspenseful) finish. I could see the reason for all the attention; I hadn't read such a riveting fantasy yarn since the Lord of the Rings, and to say that this series rivals such a work is not a light complement. My utmost respect to Mr. Stanek and his creative genius for spinning such a wonderful tale! Read them in order, otherwise things'll get confusing. These books are enjoyable by anyone from the time one begins to read. Join the fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing, February 20, 2007
A Kid's Review
I loved this book!! I could really imagine what was going on! It was full of adventure and magic!

This would rank up there as one of the best books I have read. I would say that Stanek ranks up there with some of the best authors including: Jk Rowling, Jrr Tolkien, RA Salvatore, and Brian Jacques just to name a few of my favorites.

If you like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, you will LOVE this book! A 5 star winner!

This review is from: The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches IV (Keeper Martin's Tales, Book 4) (Paperback)
I absolutely loved this book. I was unable to put it down once I started reading it. I am a big fan of the LOTR series as well as the Harry Potter books and I feel this story will be as widely popular and a favorite for so many others. I recommend this book to anyone who loves being transported to a place full of magic and adventure. It is an EXCELLENT read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST series, August 31, 2003

If you are thinking about reading a new series but are hesitant for one reason or another, let this be the review that pushes you to reading these books.

In the "Keeper Martin's Tales" cycle, Stanek creates a magnificent world and characters. The first book, The Kingdoms and the Elves 1, puts the story in motion, introducing a unique world, unique characters and an even better storyline. We follow Adrina as she pieces together the mysterious happenings in the kingdom, Vilmos as he discovers who he really is, and Galan and Seth as they set out to explore their world.

The second book, "The Kingdoms and the Elves 2," continues the momentum of the story, taking you into the heart of the battle to save Great Kingdom and the elves.

The third book, "The Kingdoms and the Elves 3," digs deep into the characters lives, giving us new friends to enjoy and love and great new adventures. Here we discover Edward, Myrial, Under Earth and King's Mate.

The fourth book, "The Kingdoms and the Elves 4," soars through the realms, giving us spectacular stories of the Ever Tree, the Mouth of the World, the Trios, and the Dragon King.

Keeper Martin's Tales is series for all ages, and is some of the best innovative fantasy fiction. It rivals the best Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and all the others have to offer. What a delight!

5.0 out of 5 stars what a book!!!, March 20, 2003
After reading many fantasy books I stumbled upon Robert Stanek and this series. He manages to create a world with such vivid detail that makes the stories believeble, this is what raises him above such writers as Feist, Eddings and Brooks and puts on par with Tolkien. It must be every writers dream to write a book of this level. The wizards, warriors and monsters are thrown together in an almost perfect manner with a reliance on the mind of the person to match the character. This is a series of book that you just simply cannot miss out on...

The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches is one of the most underrated series out there; you don't hear much buzz about it, but you should! If you haven't had the privilege of reading/listening before, start with the first one and keep going until you get to this one. What a wonderful series with a wonderful and well rounded cast of characters. It captures your attention and keeps you focused till the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book I Ever Read, April 3, 2005
A Kid's Review
Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches #4 starts when Vilmos escapes and Adrina recovers from what happened. Valam, one of my favorite characters, is in the story also. More Myrial and Emel too! Both Vilmos and Adrina want answers. But there are prices to pay for those ansewers.

I love all of Robert Stanek books and I cannot wait until all of the other books come out. Everyone should read all of these books and this book is my number one favorite. If you ever have read a book you thought couldn't be beaten, well your wrong. This book is the one to beat it. It is the BEST!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best!!!, January 8, 2004
This book is splendid. I have to say that it started off slightly differently than the first 3 books, but as you get through the book the begining slowly begins to make sense. Stanek shows genius and artistry as he plots the story of Vilmos, Adrina and Seth story. And he has the ability to make you feel what the characters are feeling. When Vilmos had to make his way to the serpent tower, I litterally felt nervous!! There were times when I got through 2 pages in what seemed like half a second because I was so anxious to know what happened next. Everything is just right in this book. There's suspense, horror, humor, romance, and of course magic. Book 4 seems like a big turning point, and I bet the rest of the series is going to be devoted to defeating Sathar. I recommend this book to everyone, of all ages. I and a lot of my friends love these books. If you are someone who hates to read, or know someone who hates to read, Kingdoms and the Elves may just be what they need.
