King's Bounty: Armored Princess - Free Demo

King's Bounty: Armored Princess is a sequel to the critically acclaimed King's Bounty: The Legend. Players will take on the role of Princess Amelie who travels around the world of Teana and searches for the renowned knight, and her mentor, Bill Gilbert. This new world of King's Bounty: Armored Princess is full of mysteries and dangers. The new character, the Princess, will encounter horrible creatures, huge monstrous bosses and a new race, the bloodthirsty Lizards. As in the multi-award winning game on which this sequel is based, the player has many options to resist these new enemies. Various new skills and characteristics of Amelie as well as her chance to fly will help her overcome the hordes attacking the kingdom.

The Princess is accompanied by a Pet Dragon, at the very beginning small and amusing, but its abilities develop steadily until it becomes an incredible ally. He will do his best to protect the Princess during the battles, starting with easy blows and treasure hunting and finishing with battle rage and volcano summoning.

    • A new female character to play - Princess Amelie
    • Pet Dragon which becomes more powerful as the player does
    • New Lizard race
    • Brand new spells and new Adventure Magic spell for game map
    • New unique bosses: Driller, Gremlion, Archdemon Baal and many others

4.0 out of 5 stars Demo of a fun and challenging game February 8, 2011
Platform for Display:PC Download|Edition:Free Demo
King's Bounty The Legend and Armored Princess are turn-based strategy games that are similar to the Heroes of Might and Magic games. I'd suggest starting with The Legend first, or buy the collection that includes The Legend, Princess and Crossworlds (expansion pack for Princess).

I enjoyed Heroes of MM I-III quite a bit, but also like the King's Bounty games. The games are simpler in that you don't have a set of castles that you must defend, and battles for enemy castles are the same as regular battles on the world map. That can be a good thing because you're free to roam around the lands without rushing back to defend your home.

Also, unlike Heroes of MM, the enemy strengths are fixed (with more distant lands holding stronger enemies) so you don't have enemies becoming impossibly strong if you don't attack them soon enough. In Heroes I always hated having to rush off before I quite wanted to because the designers had given the computer armies that increased much faster than my own.

The hero types do play differently: as a fighter you concentrate on building massive armies with magic as a supplement, while a mage character uses spells of mass destruction as their first line of offense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best demo I've found - hands down August 13, 2011

Buying a PC game is a bit like playing Russian roulette.. you get a few duds until, finally, something blows your mind. So, I started shopping around for try-before-you-buy offers and am pleased to find this one.

I cannot comment on the full version of the game since I don't own it (yet) but this demo was sweet. I'll just skip to my pros and cons, but before I do I'll just simply say it's worth the price of FREE.

Pros: 3 difficulty levels. The "easy" is like God mode in Doom. Your armies will just roll through the baddies.
3 different types of leaders: Warrior, Wizard, and Palidan (a cross between Warrior Wizard). This changes the make-up of your armies (and with Wizard, you don't even need an army, really, with the lvl3 Geyser spell).
Graphics look pretty sweet in the fight sequences. Think Battle Chess.

Cons: The world graphics are a bit pixilated.
When you're flying, you can't land just anywhere. While that might be logical, there were a few turrets with goodies to find that you had to hit just the right spot to land.
It was a bit easy to avoid confrontation when you can just fly above everything. You can just go around, pick up all the goodies on the ground, turn in a couple quests, and you're, like, level 15 before you actually get into a fight.
The vendors sold a bunch of stuff that you're character really didn't need, or you couldn't get the items that matched your "sets" to get the bonuses. This is probably because it's a demo version, though.

Anyways, I can't wait to pick up the full version. I'm sure I'll get the one called Crossroads that includes King's Bounty and expansions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun demo, kind of derivative June 1, 2014

Dl'ed a trial version. Seemed fun enough but didn't reel me in. Seemed like pieces of games I had already played and I just don't have the time to invest without a story that sucks you right in or some innovation on the game play side...

I have not really gotten serious about this game as I am a male for one thing and kind of old fashioned and I am kind of not young enough to really keep my interest in it for very long but what I have experienced was well made , intelligent enough , good presentation graphics wise though gameplay was like as to Heroes of Might and Magic it felt a little European to me. but in a good way.
