Stunned,

I am simply stunned that others cannot see the beauty of this blissful album. When lead singer Slicey Dice speaks in dulcet tones of his tender yearnings for his ice princess, a soul mate whom he's adored chastely from afar for lo these many years...well, I just get goosebumps. People don't understand that the constant stream of obscene invective is merely the black velvet against which these lyrical gems of true love are set. They stand out all the more for their being placed before such a harsh background. It's really just a metaphor for a life of pure spiritual devotion in this squalid material world. The composer/lyricist Spunk Man P is a genuine poet who rivals Donne in his fusion of flesh and spirit, the tactile and the holy. Consider, for instance, this touching refrain from "Cut Dat B*tch Up!" (track 23): "Ain' nuthin' but a g*** all up in her c*** cuz dat b*tch had to git it good, muthaf*cka!" Can we not hear, in that insinuatingly subtle rhythmic shift just after the enjambment, a whole world of spiritual longing and tender remembrance, against which the vile epithets simply wither away, leaving us naked and truly alive before the essence of God himself? Only the crudely literal-minded would see anything remotely misogynistic in such language. It seems, alas, that Slicey and Spunk Man are destined to join the ranks of the truly great poets who will never be understood and appreciated during their lifetimes. This one's for the ages, folks!

I love this cd! Sure it's loud, sure it's repetitive, sure lil jon has absolutely no MC'ing skills, but that's what makes it so great! This isnt a cd you can take completely seriously, and it's not meant to be. If you want to act BUCKWILD and get ^^CRUNK^^ then DEFINITELY BUY THIS!!!!

This CD is OFF the HOOK!,
By Chad Thorson (Omaha, NE USA) - See all my reviews

I have purchased a previous Lil Jon & the Eastside Boys CD, and enjoyed 3-5 songs. I just purchased this CD and have listened to it twice. I have to say that this CD is definately off the hook! The hottest song on the album is "Get Low." After that, the best songs are "Bi**h" "Ooh na na.." "Nothin on" "Throw it up" "Rep yo city" and definately "Weedman." Basically, the only tracks I skip are the skits! This is the best dirty south rap CD I have heard in a LONGGGG time. I have a 15" subwoofer for my computer, and feeling the bass on this CD makes me want to go and get a system for my car! If you don't have this cd....WHY????

And Now It's Time For A Legitamate Review...(3.5 stars),

Obviously people really have nothing else to do but write pointless reviews such as comparing Lil Jon to Elmo. This album is good for what it is, hardcore southern music. Now some people are thinking that I must be a big fan of crunk music, just because I'm from Atlanta. That is incorrect, because some crunk music created and marketed is just stupid and pointless, that managed to move a lot of units (examples: Dem Franchize Boyz and Dead 4 Life aka D4L). The reason I like Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz albums are the guest appearances and some of his consistant downsouth type production. True Lil Jon has created some of the biggest catchy words (I deem not type them) for many years that everybody and their mother has tried to immitate, but that itself won't last on one song, and you know that is true.
Said that, what makes the album good is the guest appearances. Lil Jon can spit a few decent verses along with Sam and Bo, like the song "Play No Games", a rare song that he doesn't repeat the same 2 or 3 lines within the verse. The song "Get Low" was a good dance track, but it was played into the ground in the summer of 2003. "Throw It Up" became the 'crunk anthem' inside of many clubs years back, but isn't as good as these reviewers here claims it is. There are tracks on here like "Nothin's Free" and "BME Click" that I'm just not feeling that much. I have no taste for a soft song like "Nothin's Free" but it can hold it's weight, and the song "BME Click" is just wack, plain and simple. Despite some of the misses, there are hits here also. "Rep Yo City", "Diamonds" and "Knocking Heads Off" come off strong with its guest appearances. Singer Oobie helps create a down south sex-type song with her voice on the track "Ooh Na Na Naa Naa". Mystikal and Krazie Bone come and make the track "I Don't Give A F***" decent for what it is. As comercial as Lil Jon and this album went, it's not all that bad as some of these idiots say, but it is also not a five star album. It falls right in the middle, because of it's downsouth production and its guest appearacnes. Also, Lil Jon didn't kill a whole genre. People like him help you listeners distinguish whats really hip hop and whats just rap music in quite possibly the most sucessful way (finacial wise), seeing that he's the hottest producer that will sell to a larger crowd of people who likes to be entertained by gimmics. Hell if you people who are writing such negative reviews hate Lil Jon, why did you spend the money on his album. People never cease to amaze me with what they say on their reviews. I recommend this to people who want to hear some downsouth music or those who were highly afilliated with MTV most of their lives. Kings Of Crunk is good for what it is, just crunk music that will shake alot of butts inside of teens house parties and some clubs. Guest Appearances: B- Production: C+ Lyrics: C- Oveall: C Favorite tracks: Knockin Heads Off, Rep Yo City, Ooh Na Na Naa Naa, Get Low Honorable Mention Track: Play No Games P.S.- The very first thing I said in my review was directed to idiots like the reviewer above me.

What the hell is this? The only things you can actually hear are: "YEAH", "WHAT", "ok"!!!! I mean this is cr*p! I gave this CD 2 stars because of two songs I like: "Get Low" and "I dont give a F---"! If you think that's REAL rap music then you have no idea what's going on in rap world! Try some good artists/bands like: DMX

Crunk Is Killing Hip Hop,
By Tha Realist (Everywhere) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kings of Crunk (Audio CD)
Hip hop has been around for over two decades. Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys are threatening to kill it altogether. Period. No ifs ands or buts. This garbage lacks good beats, lyrics, and flow. You want good beats? Check out A Tribe Called Quest. You want good lyrics? Check out Common. You want good flow? Check out Biggie. Lil Jon is a disgusting excuse for hip hop. And you know what else? It's actually IRRITATING to listen to. Lil Jon & Co. lack talent, vision, and so many other vital aspects a musician needs that its sad. Hip hop is supposed to be about sounding good, having a message, being socially conscious, expressing yourself, being visionary. Rap music used to be a message, a purpose, a way of life. Lil Jon is threatening to throw two decades worth of culture down the toilet. If rap music is going to exist 20 years down the road, Lil Jon has got to go, because if he remains popular, i shudder at what hip hop will look like in 20 years. Do not buy this cd for your sake, for the sake of your friends, and for the future of rap music.

Give me a break,
This review is from: Kings of Crunk (Audio CD)
What is this trash? The question is: how many times can you scream the same meaningless lyrics to the same casio beat and still have morons line up to buy your record? Answer: I just don't know. "So you're up in the club, blah, blah, blah..." Who cares? How is this beneficial to anyone? How did this come to be such a phenomenon? Stiff ballcaps, pounds of (probably borrowed) jewelry, sports jerseys, a bunch of girls who just want to be on MTV dancing to this garbage... I'm lost. When did the requirement for real innovation or talent in order to sell a record go away. No idea. This freak with gold teeth made more money this year than any of his fans will in their entire lives. He's gotta be thanking the millions of mindless head bobbers, spastically jiving to such great lyrics as "yeah" and "what" for such an honor.

wow, how can s**t like this come out, yet I, a struggling musician for 15 years can't put out a cd????????????
"Crunk" is just another trend folks. What's funny, is that "Crunk" can be broken down into two words..."Crap" and "Junk" which is what this cd is. [...]

Another reason why no you longer need talent for contract,
This review is from: Kings of Crunk (Audio CD)
This is the perfect example. The beats are nice but its the same repetitive lines people will get tired of. Only people who wont get tired of hearing "YEAH!!! WHAT!!! OKAY!!! LETS GO!!!!" are idiots who are probably virgins to some real music. Anyone who is impressed and/or promotes this has no idea about real music and should stick to listen their garbage that has no meaning to it. I will continue to listen to the music that paved the way and had meaning to listening to it. Thats why the new generations are so effed up today.
