5.0 out of 5 stars History at it's finest
Absoultely the best book I have read on this subject. It is my favorite book on our (US)Revolutionary War. If you have the slightest interest in this period of our history then this book is a "must read".

3.0 out of 5 stars Review of Reprint: King's Mountain by Lyman C. Draper
This is a wonderful book on content alone. It is the type of literature that was available before computers improved the quality. This is a wonderful book on content alone. It is the type of literature that was available before computers improved the quality. The typing, spelling and transcription of this book are very poor in that the whole book is filled with misspelled names and in some cases so totally neglectful of correct spelling at all that it is hard to determine what word was intended. If you can handle constant errors within the text you will enjoy it in spite of these bothersome entries. The book would have been a perfect 10 had it been rewritten, proofread, retyped, and overall edited for errors before publishing.

The content was a masterful collection of real data compiled from real records made during and after the American Revolution. I value it greatly for the bird's eye view it represents when little was written on the subject. Mr. Draper was an educated man and he acquired a lot of information not available elsewhere. This is certainly a springboard book for further research.
