Sverre Bagge, Ph.D. (1980) in History, University of Bergen, is Professor of History at the University of Bergen, Norway. He has published on medieval political and intellectual history, including Society and Politics in Snorri Sturluson's Heimskringla (The University of California Press, 1991).
