Five years ago, the band gathered in Hawaii along with their biggest fans for what they thought was their last performance. Since that emotional finale concert, founding members Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss have tirelessly worked to raise awareness and support for the 100 orphans currently being cared for in Jacmel and Grand Goave, Haiti. Now, with additional new band members and a larger ... Read more in Amazon's Audio Adrenaline Store

Editorial Reviews

After five years away, Audio Adrenaline is back -- by popular demand and with a renewed mission. The faces may look a little different, but the heart and passion of this GRAMMY-winning band remains unchanged. Yes,that's Kevin Max of dcTalk and solo fame at the mic and founding member Will McGinniss on bass. The new lineup is rounded out by CCM vets Dave Ghazarian (Superchick), Jared Byers (Bleach), and singer-songwriter Jason Walker. Former front man and co-founder Mark Stuart remains very involved and contributed to many of the songs for the new album.

This talented group of like-minded musicians shares a common goal: to be
the voice for orphans in Haiti and around the world. Lead single, Kings &
Queens," is an orphan anthem that celebrates the transformation God can
bring about. The album's remaining fresh rock tracks are just as powerful.
The new Audio Adrenaline is creating music that will move you while making
the world a better place for children in need. Thanks to the band, Know
Hope and AA's label, Fair Trade Services, a portion of proceeds will directly benefit the work of Hands & Feet Project.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Face - Similar Sound - Awesome Record March 12, 2013
Format:Audio CD
For anyone who followed Audio Adrenaline to the "end" in 2007, the news of the 2012 revitalization of Audio Adrenaline came as quite a shock. The lineup that crafted the majority of the Audio Adrenaline records we have come to know and love is gone, save the bassist Will McGginness. Kevin Max, formerly of dc talk, has stepped up to the microphone as the new lead singer in place of Mark Stuart. Many fans undoubtedly questioned this move (myself included). Despite my curiosity, I was not particularly looking forward to this record because I had a huge problem with this mostly new band flying under the moniker of Audio Adrenaline. It didn't matter to me how good a singer Kevin Max was. Holding on to this mentality would have been a huge mistake.

I started seeing some reviews come up online in January, and with a peeked curiosity I went ahead and did the preorder which featured an instant streaming of the entire record. I could not help but smile as soon as I hear the opening deliciously poppy guitar licks from the bouncy opening song: He Moves You Move.

Stylistically, this is still the rock & roll pop that Audio Adrenaline was famous for, but you can tell that the classic sound has changed a bit. Each song is accessible and yet each song has its own distinct flare. The songs are catchy, engaging, and memorable. You will catch yourself singing these songs long after the cd stops spinning.

With the exception of the sole Ocean Floor-esque "ballad", title track Kings & Queens, the album boasts mostly mid-tempo and upbeat pop songs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Audio Adrenaline mach 2 ... July 20, 2013
Format:Audio CD
It's taken me a while, but I finally want to lay down some thoughts about the new AA album. With Mark Stuart's departure, Will McGinnis (bass) is the only original member left in the band. Think of Motley Crue putting out a new album with only Nikki Sixx left from the original group, and Vince Neil tagging along to help promote the bands' new album. So who did they get to replace Mark Stuart? None other than, DC Talk veteran, Kevin Max. This makes total sense from the record company perspective. Look at the success Michael Tait has had with the Newsboys. But with what is essentially a new band, with a new singer, and a new sound, they probably should have renamed the band, or at least done a Jefferson Airplane/Starship type of thing. It would seem that at the end of the day, Audio Adrenaline is still bankable, a known name that record companies, promoters, etc. can still make money from without having to invest as heavy as they would in promoting a new band. Even though "Christian music" exists in it's own little bubble, a sub culture of the greater music culture at large, at the end of the day, most of the bigger "Christian" record companies are owned by larger "secular" entities, and of course, there needs to be a return in their investment, and like all good investors, they want the most bang for their buck.

I have liked some of Audio A's past music. I think Barry Blair was highly underrated as a guitar player, and the Bloom album was ahead of most of their Christian music peers in the mid-90's. My interest in the Kings & Queens album is of course due to the vocal styling of Kevin Max. He remains one of my favorite modern singers, but he has yet to make that "great" album that I know he is capable of.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Album March 17, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
This album is great. It can't be compared to the old Audio A because Kevin Max' sound is so unique. This is a re-invented Audio A and needs to be received as such. The lyrics are solid and I love that proceeds are going to the Hands and Feet project. The ONLY complaint I have about the album is that it only has 10 tracks. I'd prefer 12-13, maybe with one being a re-mix of an old Audio A song (Hands, Father's House, etc) to tie the two eras together.

This is a very strong release from the revamped Audio Adrenaline. Every song is good, especially the first two cuts. I just wish that the electric guitars were a little bit raunchier -- a little more screaming guitar here and there.
But overall, it's a good disc. Kevin Max's voice rarely has sounded better than it does here. Can't wait to see this version of the band live next month.

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW!! March 20, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I have been a fan of Audio Adrenaline and DC Talk for many years, so it was exciting to hear that Kevin Max was taking over vocal duties from the great Mark Stuart.

First let me say that Mark has been and always will be one of my favorite singers. The Audio Adrenaline that he fronted was one heck of a band! Their albums and live shows were always top notch. It saddened me greatly when I learned of Mark's vocal cord problems and subsequent end of Audio Adrenaline.

Fast forward. The revamped Audio Adrenaline comes on the scene with veteran musicians from other bands and one of the greatest voices in music, Kevin Max.

I caught a live show and was blown away! That concert made me buy the CD.

The NEW "Audio A" is awesome! The band has changed their style a bit to showcase Kevin's amazing vocals. His range is unbelievable and it is evident that his version of Audio A is going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come in the world of Christian music. There are a couple of songs here that are not the best but for the most part this is one great album.

Whether you are a fan of DC Talk or Audio Adrenaline, this is a must have collection of songs.

I really liked a couple songs I'd heard on the radio, but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. I want them to have a more various style!
