Dig In, Dig Hard, and you'll get a Great read!,

I have to admit that I was a little worried about this book as it started off a tad slow. But then I got into Chapter Two and that's when things started to happen. Now, I admit, I'm impressed. The story grabs you and holds you and you literally find yourself taking this book with you wherever you go so as to continue reading whenever you find time. And to think this is the first of a series?! Ok, then, I'm hooked and I'll be anxiously waiting for the sequels. Hmm...maybe I can locate the author and pester him for release dates or early editions... In any case, I enjoyed this book and if you give it a good chance, you will too.

What a wonderful read. I bought it for my son for Christmas, and he can't put it down. We look forward to reading the rest of the series when it comes.

ready for the next...,

I have to admit I was skeptical at first. I met the author and he began his pitch to me by criticizing Tolkien!!!! I am as big a Tolkien fan as they come so I was predisposed to view this book as at best a copycat and at worst severly lacking. Now, I wouldn't even begin to place the author and Tolkien in the same league, however the book was certainly worth reading and I'm ready for a sequel. The characters are interesting, the concept is intriguing, and the plot draws you in. Job well done.

I really enjoyed this book. As with many books, you need to stick with it past the 1st chapter. His story gives an age-old message a new twist, brought to life through some amazing, believable characters. You can't wait to see what happens next on their journey. Lots of heartwarming emotions and whimsical passages as well. If you're a fan of medieval history, you'll love it; if you're not, you'll love it. Can't wait to read the next in the series.
