How MMC Works
The MMC standard provides an easy method for quickly downloading and transferring files from your computer or the Internet. By using a MMC Reader it is also possible to upload files from your MMC card to your computer. MMC is a popular format for leading manufacturers of Digital devices. Because of its small foot print, MMC makes it easy for device manufacturers to integrate expansion capability into ever smaller devices.
What is the Difference Between MMC and SD?
SD is a second generation derivative of the MMC standard. At the present time, MMC is the more widely used format. SD cards are slightly thicker than the original MMC cards. This means that most devices designed to support SD are also backward compatible to MMC cards, but devices designed only for MMC will not support SD. To be certain, it is best to refer to your user owner manual.

Never fail Kingston MMC MultiMedia Card,
By
This review is from: Kingston 64 MB MultiMedia Card (MMC/64) (Personal Computers)
The Kingston MMC/64MB MultiMedia Card is one of the most reliable cards I've used in my MiniJam MP3 player. I had trouble with the sound quality of the 64MB Scandisk card recording extranious audio and skipping even though the 32MB version recorded just fine. However, the Kingson 64M has never failed. It has always recorded and delivered clear, high quality audio and played back music without any hissing, humming or extranious audio after more than a year of playback and numerous reformatting and recordings.

How many pictures will it store?,
By
This review is from: Kingston 64 MB MultiMedia Card (MMC/64) (Personal Computers)
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The Kingston 64MB MultiMedia Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera. I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.
