Beware counterfeits,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Mine didn't work properly, right out of the box. After copying several hundred files to it, the previously copied files started getting overwritten by the new ones. I contacted the seller (Cornerstone Mktg) was issued a refund, but two of the six comments on his site also had problems and were issued refunds. Kingston tech support says they have been seeing a lot of counterfeits, and indeed mine has no serial number inscribed on the USB connector which is an indication that the unit is counterfeit according to Kingston.

I saw it, and pre-ordered it. It got here and formatted at 64GB and works perfectly. I was amazed it wasn't more expensive. I'd bought a 32GB SSD (not thumbdrive) and it had a lot of USB Device malfunction issues. I was worried this Kingston 64GB Thumbdrive would choke the system, only worse -
But it did not. It's working well. I have moved images onto the drive, meaning a write cycle of probably an hour - and the drive did not overheat, corrupt anything or fail. I am probably buying a second one, then holding on to see if a 128 gb comes out. I'd trust the Kingston but more importantly, I'd trust the seller, Amazon has a great return policy. Fortunately for me, I didn't need it on this. Good job Kingston! Thanks Amazon!

Large capacity, great size and price,

8 years ago, I bought a flash drive of the same price and size but has only 1GB on it. Technology sure is really fast because now, 64 times the capacity, same size and price! Greate purchase, I was lucky enough to buy this product a week ago when it was still a bit cheaper than the current posted price of $122. Main reason for buying the product is because my WD passport hdd broke. This one is not 320GB but it's more reliable and portable. I don't mean to compare this with a high capacity HDD though, I was just devastated because all my files were gone :(. Can't wait for them to come up with a higher capacity flash drive soon.
The product is sealed in a blister pack, very simple packaging. Be careful when you open the pack though, don't throw it away because there is also a lace included in the cardboard-type sort of manual where the licensing and stuff are printed. This lace goes through the hole at the bottom of the flash drive (see the picture that I've attached in this product). This is why I wondered why one of the reviewers had to make the hole bigger when there is already a lace included. Flash drive capacity is as advertised, you get a little over 64MB (nice!)and there is a separate 32KB for the system files (note the word separate). I tried to see how long will it take to write files on this thing so I copied over a movie file worth 173MB and was able to transfer it in 14 seconds, giving us over 12MB per second. Not as fast as a spinning HDD of course but still manageable (I'm not particular with the write speed anyway). As for the read speed, I'm not sure how to measure this so I decided to load a movie instead, didn't encounter any lags or anything for the whole duration of the movie. Finally, there is no external switch to turn on/off the write protect settings for this item. You might be able to do this using a program that will invoke the setting on board. Personally, I don't use this setting that much since we get a lot of prompts that warn us when the same files will be overwritten and the capacity is huge anyway. Overall, one of my great buys in amazon. Currently out of stock as I write this review, lucky me :).

I have my entire office workload, archives and all, and Outlook files as well, stored on this amazing drive. Each night, besides my regular backup, I backup changed and new files to this device. The device is fast, so backing up to it (or copying files to it) takes little time. Then I put the drive in my pocket and have it with me wherever I go. This is the ultimate backup; I could - if necessary - restart my entire business anywhere in the world without missing a beat. I recommend this drive highly.

I was sold a FAKE version of this product!,

This review is from: 64GB DataTraveler DT150 (Personal Computers)
Bought this product via Amazon marketplace for $79.99 + shippping. Drive would not format NTFS. Tried on two laptops xp and vista and read all FAQs on Kingstons website. Tried to submit a helpdesk tkt on Kingstons website however the 'Bill of Material' number does not exist (even on the packaging). Called Kingston, they advise that an orginal Kingston product has this number laser embossed on the jack of the drive - this is clearly a FAKE product (Made in Taiwan). Kingston advise that they investigating Amazon on as they've already received a number of complaints and they are using the Kingston brand name. Called Amazon to report this and they advise that the reseller has already refunded my account - before I even made a request for a refund (hmmm sounds a bit suspect!) I would not trust anything under around the $140 mark for this product to be genuine. I have emailed all the resellers under $140 to question if the product they are selling is genuine - will update you on this. BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU BUY THIS ONE!Kingston DataTraveler 64 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT150/64GB (Red/Black)

Not good,

Started off by locking up after a couple minutes of writing data to the drive. After 3 hours of frustration I only had about 10 gb on it. Then low and behold it was all gone. Now I can't read or write. Got an RMA from Kingston so we'll see. Seller did everything right, no complaints.

Mine was a counterfeit,

I purchased this Kingston USB Flash Drive on Amazon.com.
The seller was other than Amazon. I did receive it very fast and the packaging looked legitimate. The first thing I always do is format. I was unable to format this one. I contacted Kingston Tecnical Support. After looking at it closely, the markings of a legitimate Kingston were missing. It is indeed a counterfeit. Apparently, there are plenty of these out there being sold thru reputable sites. Beware!!! The seller has been very cooperative so far, I returned it this morning.

Best gadget ever.,

Everytime a larger capacity thumb drive cames out, I typically put it off until I really need it. Having one of 8GBs, I never imagined needing much more for a while. Now that I have 64GBS on a thumb drive, I can't imagine ever being without it.
Working as a tech I typically need a plethora of tools and documentation. Carying a CD/DVD case around can get pretty annoying. I was able to load up 40GBs of tools, iso files and documents on to this great little thumb drive. With over 20GBs to spare, right in my pocket. It loads fast, is quickly recognised on xp and vista, and file transfers are pretty quick for a thumb drive. The only thing that can be a bit of a let down is that the size is a bit fat. On some systems, you may have to remove another usb device to get it to fit properly. Other than that, it's great.

All my prior USB flash drives were 8 GB or smaller. I was looking for a 16 or 32 GB drive, and saw that this 64 GB drive was in my price range.
It works with my Dell desktop PC's running Windows XP Home, Windows Vista 32 bit, and Windows 7 beta 32 and 64 bit. The drive comes pre-formatted with a FAT file system, which is good, as Windows no longer allows large drives to be formatted to FAT. It isn't exactly the fastest flash drive in the west, but it is one of the largest affordable drives. The physical size is no larger than typical 2, 4 or 8 GB USB flash drives. If you need a lot of space in an easily portable drive, you could do a lot worse than the Kingston Technology DT150/64GB 64GB DataTraveler 150 USB 2.0 Flash Drive. It can't be used to speed up Windows Vista or Windows 7 like some other USB flash drives. It doesn't do readyboost. Only purchase this for a lot of storage at a reasonable price. It holds backups of my personal files, in the event of a drive failure or accidental deletion. This is the first drive which can hold my large music and video library. I'm very pleased with this drive and with Amazon's quick delivery.

Locked up during 20mb+ file transfers,

It's great to have access to 64GB of size for transfer, unfortunately, it locks up on 20mb file transfers off my laptop. I have not seen any other reviews suggesting that so perhaps there may be an issue with my unit. I've used 1,2,4gb USB flash drives without issue from Kingston. This one, however, locked up during mid transfers, unfortunately.
