The DataTraveler II Plus can store and carry a wide variety of information from a home or work computer--such as emails from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Mozilla Thunderbird; settings, favorites, cookies, and history from Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox; plus important documents, files, folders, and icons.
The DataTraveler II Plus Migo Edition is perfect for commuting between a home and work office, for frequent travelers, or for setting up demonstrations on a client's computer. This specialized flash drive works on any PC that has the applications needed, and when the device is returned to the original PC, Migo synchronizes all changes to keep work data current. For security, different workspace profiles--such as home, work, notebook, and client--can be created and password protected with the SecureTraveler2 privacy feature.
The easy-to-use Migo Wizard walks the user through each step, and the built-in Migo meter keeps track of available capacity and alerts the user to how much space is needed for selected files and settings. Migo works across platforms on Windows XP (SP1 and later) or Windows 2000 (SP3 and later) systems and is designed to match the language of the guest operating system.
The DataTraveler II is also ideal for corporate use. Corporations can use generic, applications-only notebook pools for field employees and other mobile professionals. The employee can use Migo to create a personalized working environment, and the administrative rights can protect corporate data by creating a partition on the drive for additional security with SecureTraveler2. Upon return to the office, Migo updates and synchronizes all data on the employee's PC, and the notebook can be returned to the loaner pool. This device is especially useful for field personnel working in health care, government, insurance, education, or any job where flexible mobility is important. The DataTraveler II Plus Migo Edition can also be customized with a corporate logo.
The reliable and easy-to-use DataTraveler II Plus Migo Edition is backed by a 5-year warranty and Kingston's 24/7 tech support.

innovatably impressive,
This review is from: Kingston Data Traveler II Plus - Migo Edition - USB flash drive - 2 GB ( DTII+M/2GB ) (Retail Package) (Personal Computers)
You would think to yourself, "will there ever be a flash drive that will satisfy my needs?". Surprisingly enough, this one meets my requirements. Not only is it big enough to hold numerous files, unlike those 256 mb drives, it also has an incredibly fast rate at reading and writing the files. With 16mbps, and 13mbps to write/read, it is definelty faster than the ordinary flash drive from sandisk, memorex, etc. Furthermore, it has migo- if you do not like migo, not to worry, you do not have to install it, unlike those U3 enabled drives that are U3 smart "forever". Click on the link that gives the tutorial in amazon for the migo edition, and that will literaly explain what it does. So far, this is an impressive item, however the kingston company fails to provide a lanyard big enough to put around your neck, because the one they giv is for a key chain. Furthermore the cap, once it is off the USB drive has no way of staying on once it is hooked up to the computer, so keep an eye on it!!Nonetheless, this item is amazing, it has my approval.

I was not as interested in the security requirements, but rather the capacity to haul large files between computers.I researched other large USB flash drives and was concerned about transfer rates and reliability. This thing is a horse. I highly recommend it...

This review is from: Kingston Data Traveler II Plus - Migo Edition - USB flash drive - 2 GB ( DTII+M/2GB ) (Retail Package) (Personal Computers)
This drive is OK, but there is a better alternative (more on that below). I am still learning the Migo software and how I might use it to keep things synchronized between my laptop and desktop. The biggest benefit for me would be to be able to read and reply to e-mails on either machine. As far as files and Internet bookmarks, I have better ways to keep those in sync. The only annoyance is that the cap doesn't fit on the other end of the drive when it's off. I don't think that any flash drive should be designed that way. I am thinking of affixing velcro to the side of the drive and the side of the cap. I think that will work. Otherwise, keeping track of the cap is just one more detail that I don't want to keep track of. I would give this drive more than 3 stars, however the loose cap knocks it down one, and the fact that there is a better alternative knocks it down one. After buying this drive I found a better alternative on Amazon for less. The Titanium Sandisk Cruzer 2G is more durable with a retracting cap. I ordered one of those today. That has U3 software on it. I have no connection with Sandisk, and I think just reviewing the two drives will speak for itself. I have a hard time keeping track of what the software on these devices does, so I will just use it as a normal flash drive. For that, this should do just fine. However check out the Sandisk -- I think that is the better of the two if Amazon still sells it for the same price or less.
