5.0 out of 5 stars Kingston Traveler Black and Green thumb drive
This is the first time I've attempted to review any Amazon dot com product.

I purchased two of these drives on special. This brand of drive was recommended to me for the purpose I wished to use it for. I find these drives to be ruggid in their construction. They remind my wife of a travel tooth brush!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great device, but beware losing the cap
Hi, this is my third thumb drive, and, though pricey, I love the 32GB functionality, and its attractive look. I demoted it a couple stars, though, because of the cap design. Though it goes on stiffly and is unlikely to come apart in a purse or keychain (we'll see how stiffly it attaches over time), I don't like the fact that the cap completely disengages from the device...

5.0 out of 5 stars Kingston Traveler Black and Green thumb drive, February 28, 2010

This is the first time I've attempted to review any Amazon dot com product.

I purchased two of these drives on special. This brand of drive was recommended to me for the purpose I wished to use it for. I find these drives to be ruggid in their construction. They remind my wife of a travel tooth brush!

The first thing I did was remove all Kingston Traveler software on the drive itself! I simply wished to move files from one device to another! Since I'm totally blind, I use both drives on the National Library Services new digital player. This is made available through the National Library Service talking book program for the blind and physically handicapped. The player primarily uses a special digital cartridge which has one book per cartridge. The Kingston drive is an alternative when cartridge books are not available or one downloads these books. I probably can get close to thirty books on this 4 gig drive. This depends on the length of all books which were downloaded. Needless to say, the drive works flawlessly for this purpose!

I highly recommend this drive whether you use its software or not! Jim

I needed a usb drive for my Xbox 360 and I knew that they have to meet certain speed requirements. I plugged it into my console and formatted it. It ran an automatic speed test and passed. Haven't had any problems yet! Great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product from Kingston, April 11, 2010

This is a great USB-key and has a lot of space, my only grievance is that it ships by default with FAT32... which means that u will need to format to have NTFS. I don't criticize about the price because is definitely worth it.

I bought them as a gift. They are not retractable, which is what I wanted. I have seen too many retractable thumb drives break. The purchase was shipped promptly, and arrived promptly. They work fine; and the rubber outer casing make them easy to insert and withdraw.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Flash Drive Showing Things to Come, September 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kingston DataTraveler C10 - 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DTC10/16GB (Black & Yellow) (Personal Computers)
It will never cease to amaze me at just how small storage devices have become, and the evolution from 256 MB to CD to 16GB says to me that one day Kingston and others will have a digital drive like Western's the size of a jump drive. All that said, this Kingston is fast enough and holds all my photos with very little room to spare and all my music with half the drive to spare. Others have complained that the drives are slow. I don't know how fast they're supposed to me, but it took less than 8 minutes to load 200+ music "albums." It was much slower with photographs, most of which are a gig or more each. As I said, I don't understand such things, and don't really care so long as they read and write at a reasonable rate.

Why four stars? Because I failed to notice and it was not in the description that this had a removable cap with no place to attach it while in use. I hate that!

I used this drive to deliver about 2,500 worth of professional photographic high resolution jpgs to a client. The photos copied onto the drive quickly & I've had no complaints from the client. I would recommend it & will buy another in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great., March 15, 2010

I've got no complaints so far about this little guy, it's half the size of my other flash drives but holds a lot more data. I like the red plastic cover too, it looks cool and protects the entire flash drive, not just the USB connector.

Hi, this is my third thumb drive, and, though pricey, I love the 32GB functionality, and its attractive look. I demoted it a couple stars, though, because of the cap design. Though it goes on stiffly and is unlikely to come apart in a purse or keychain (we'll see how stiffly it attaches over time), I don't like the fact that the cap completely disengages from the device and won't even fit over the back like a capped pen. This means that, when in use, there's a separate piece that must be placed away from the USB drive itself. There's also no way to attach a chain to the cap-end of the device so the two pieces could be held together loosely. That's a recipe for a lost cap which is disastrous in a device that cost over $70. Poor design in my opinion.
