Product Description

This Kingston KMBVM Series mini ball valve is made of chrome-plated brass for higher corrosion resistance than regular brass or steel, and has a lever handle for on/off manual control, and full port flow for higher operating efficiency than standard port. This inline valve has 1/4" male and female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting a female threaded pipe and a male threaded pipe going in the same direction. This full port ball valve is pressure rated to 400 pounds per square inch (psi) at a maximum operating temperature of 400 degrees F, and is suitable for use in air, water, or inert gas applications.

Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve and is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Ball valves can be referred to as full port or reduced port (also known as regular or standard port) depending on the inner diameter or the valve. A ball valve is full port if the hole of the ball is the same size as the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline (resulting in lower friction) and termed reduced port if the hole of the valve is one pipe size smaller than the pipe, resulting in less flow through the valve than through the shaft of the pipe. Ball valves may have a handle or lever that aligns with the ball’s position (open or closed) for manual operation. They are primarily used in air, gas, liquid, and steam applications.

Kingston manufactures safety valves, check valves, and flow control valves for industrial applications. The company, founded in 1908, is headquartered in Torrance, CA.

It actually looks more refined than the picture shows. The valve is quite easy to turn on and off, even under 150lbs of air pressure. I used mine on the OUT port side of an Ingersoll Rand R37121-600-VS 250 PSI MAX 1/4-Inch Regulator, Black air regulator that is mounted on my garage air compressor.

Received the part as described, professionally packaged, and in excellent condition. This valve is machined from extruded brass bar stock, finished in a chrome plate.

I just recieved two of these. They seem to be top quality, better then I expected and 1000 times better then the common 'radiator wing screw' type I am replacing and always hated altho those cheapos are far more compact then these. Very positive, smooth valve action with apropriate amount of rotation friction such that they are easy to manipulate but still stay in possition you want. I will install and use both soon and update if necessary.

(((one minor gripe--how am I going to remember what the brand is 5 yrs from now if it's not stamped into the body? Seems like useful inexpensive marketing to simply add a durable brand lable of some sort as I might want more of these one day.)))

I could tell you all day long that these are great but they aren't. I don't think these are made in the USA. I am pretty sure they are made in CHINA. I own a carpet cleaning company and purchased these for use on my hoses and they really haven't held up that well. They are made for it, but they have given me issues. I purchased these because the ones from my supplies are $15.00 and these were $5.00. Well, you get what you pay for. So I'll keep trying to find a better one. Very disappointed in this product.

Using two of these in a small vacuum setup. No ball valve has a perfect seal, but these are pretty good.

Very nice valve. I believe it is made in the USA. It is full port (no flow restriction) unlike many similar appearing valves. The handle is die-cast metal, not the cheap plastic found on inferior valves. I mounted it on a Porter Cable pancake compressor to replace the lousy screw-style drain valve that was leaking. This is so much better! (I used a 90 degree fitting for bottom clearance based on a prior reviewer's issue, but it might have been OK without the 90 degree fitting.) I just ordered another for my big compressor in the shop. This is the valve to get!

Seems ok mechanically, but too long for the porter cable pancake compressor. My bad for not checking first. The original screw type only has a half inch body. This thing has a 1 1/8" body, leaving about 1/16" clearance. An uneven surface could cause it to break the threads off of the tank of the compressor. When it's open, the handle will hit regardless so not advisable to use this one for my compressor. Going with the dewalt oem since it's shorter
