What's the reason people install more RAM? The need for more speed! And that's just what Kingston Technologies 1GB DDR SDRAM Desktop Memory does. I only had 256 MB RAM on my desktop even though it is a 2.2 ghz. and after awhile, I had to install a RAM booster, and even then, my system ran slow. Now, my computer runs faster than when it was new! The memory module is easy enough to install (even though I had to reinstall it about 5 times - make sure it snaps into place tightly!), and your system should recognize the additional RAM immediately upon booting up.

Before putting in this RAM, I had 1gb of samsung RAM powered by a Pentium 4 3.2ghz processor. The general speed of the computer got slower and slower over time (since reformat).
I decided to upgrade to 2gb total RAM, and it made a huge difference in boot up speed, general windows use, and for gaming. Things are INSTANT again, just like a fresh reformatted drive. I'm very happy with the purchase. Kingston, as far as I know, has always been a good quality brand.

Runs fine...worked fine ...had a problem intalling the product...would not work at first...call Kingston tech support...someone I could understand! They figured out quickly that my motherboard had to have the memory in a certain order (thier product first)...got it done and the computer boots and runs much faster now. Glad I bought the product.

It was a breeze to install and has definitely improved the speed on my computer. Much cheaper than any of the box electronic stores. So far no problems...

Cheap but versatile,
This review is from: Kingston ValueRAM 512MB 400MHz PC3200 DDR Desktop Memory (KVR400/512R) (Personal Computers)
I bought this memory to use with my EPOX 8KD3I motherboard with an AMD 64 3400 processor. I previously could not get my bios to run at 200 mhz with 2 double sided modules from Geil (which is actually 400mhz). I even updated the bios, went through the motherboard manual which stated that the other module needed to be single sided when using two memory modules. So I returned one the Geil modules and purchased a single sided module from Crutial Technologies (103482) 184-pin DIMM DDR400 DDR PC3200 512 and it still would only register at 166mhz regardless of what order the modules were installed in. Then I bought this product and used it with Crutial Technologies module. Bam! It ran at 200 mhz.

Bought one on a really good sale at amazon.com. Kingston memory chips have never failed me and I'll recommend this to anyone. Works flawlessly with my Dell P4 and improved performance with a lot less swapping.
Two thumbs up for a great product from Kingston. Do check your motherboard specs and make sure you're pairing the right memory sticks so you don't end up slowing your computer down.

Our nephew recommended this product, we ordered it on Monday, received it on Friday, inserted it immediately and had a BRAND NEW COMPUTER! This was after months of struggling along with agonizingly slow operation of our computer even though we had high speed internet access. |
