Bob Shane is now the last surviving founding member of "THE KINGSTON TRIO" (Dave Guard co-founder passed in 1991, John Stewart Jan 2008 and Nick Reynolds co-founder Oct 2008). The original Trio Dave, Bob and Nick performed from 1957 - 1961 and then Dave left and John joined and stayed until the Trio Retired in 1967. Shortly that after Bob formed "THE NEW KINGSTON TRIO in 1968 and continued their legacy which is still performing today.
This DVD in 60 mins covers their incredible musical journey from 1957 to present and how they were an instant success story with 1958 GRAMMY winner "TOM DOOLEY" and became the most popular singing group in the world!! Interviews with various FOLK stars including Bob Shane and John Stewart high light this Documentary DVD. This is a Collector's DVD for your musical library. Bonus Video Track of "THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE" is a gem. This is a keeper and an enjoyable journey "50 YEARS of HAVIN' FUN" and they sure do.

Gave this to my father for Christmas and he lived it! Growing up with the Kingston Trio he knows all their tunes and is currently learning to play a banjo in the style of the Trio. This film was very informative and my father learned a lot.
