5.0 out of 5 stars more like an expandable flash drive than a card reader
it read my 4GB SDHC card with no problems. I bought it because of its size and it doesn't dissapoint. It fits in any USB enabled nook you can find. Since the micro SD cards are so small they are hard to take out of the reader (easy to put in). Ultimately I just leave a 4GB micro SD card in it and use it as a flash drive unless I need to read a card used elsewhere...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sufficient only
It certainly does its job. However, the micro SD card fits extremely snug and you need long fingernails to be able to get it out afterward. I worry every time I use it that I'm going to accidentally break the SD card trying to get it in or out.

It serves it's purpose well and hopefully people won't find a reason to shrink memory cards much more than they are. :o)

4.0 out of 5 stars Works but awkward, June 2, 2008
This review is from: Kingston USB 2.0 microSD Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-MRB (Black) (Personal Computers)
The product works fine, however its a bit awkward at first inserting the reader into a usb slot, it also feels a bit fragile at times.

However the reader itself works wonderfully, reads the micro-sd cards fine, with a high read/write speed.

Not much more to say about, if you need a simple micro-sd card reader, there is no reason not to buy this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! It's Tiny!, May 27, 2009
This review is from: Kingston USB 2.0 microSD Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-MRB (Black) (Personal Computers)
You definitely want to attach this microSDHC card reader to your keychain or backpack. This thing is tiny! I've lost count of the number of times I've lost it. It's barely bigger than the size of the distal phalange of my pinkie!

Pros
----
- It's tiny (it's a double-edged sword)!

- It works with microSD and microSDHC cards (microSDHC = High Capacity microSD cards with capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB).

- It's 100% reliable! I use it with my 8GB Kingston microSDHC Class 4 cards with no problems whatsoever.

Cons
----
None whatsoever.

A couple of people mentioned that it's hard to get the microSD card out. I personally don't find it to be terribly difficult to remove the card from the slot at all. The tail end of the microSD card is slightly raised so you can grab it with your fingernails to pull it out of the slot. The microSD looks fragile but they're built more sturdy than you might think (I've never broken one yet)!

The Kingston USB 2.0 microSD works perfectly. It's very reasonably priced and there's free shipping - I don't think you can go wrong with this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Surprise Solution!, June 3, 2009
This review is from: Kingston USB 2.0 microSD Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-MRB (Black) (Personal Computers)
I recently needed to add flash memory capacity to a '(Kodak)picture frame'. It had USB and SD slots. I tried 4GB, 8GB - standard SD; microSD w/adapter; Nothing! Scrutinized instructions ...aha - it won't take SD/HC (just SD!) - says the fine print! Indeed, my chips were the HC type! Aren't they all, now anyway?? So, as a last resort, I inserted the microSD chip into this idle microSD Card Reader, and the Reader into the USB slot - voila! Saved the day! Wonderful shows ensued!

This item worked great. It is as small as promised. It is so small I do not know where it is right now. It is smaller than a quarter. Hope this helps.

These are a great alternative to using cables to sync music to your phone. Nice if you dont have a multi card-reader on your pc. No problems with different card sizes 2gb micro sd up to 8gb micro sdhc

I have this and the little sandisk ones. this one is horribly slow (1/10th speed) and hard to get card out of and poorly designed. Get the Sandisk one (black or red micro reader)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful and good price, May 10, 2009
This review is from: Kingston USB 2.0 microSD Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-MRB (Black) (Personal Computers)
Very useful product. Easily transfers images or files from your phone to your computer. Do not listen to the people that say the micro SD card gets stuck or does not come out. I use it weekly and do not have any problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, March 30, 2009

Great little device. Does everything it's intended to do. Plugged it into my Windows XP computer and it was immediately recognized. I had no issue removing the micro card, as some other reviewers seemed to have. Only issue for me was that it took me a minute or two to figure out that the unit pulls out from its shell, exposing the actual device that plugs into USB. This was not immediately apparent to me, and the diagram on back of package was not very clear. As usual these days, there were no words, only pictures. Other than this, I found this device to be everything I expected it to be.
