Customer Reviews

This small and unobtrusive reader works really well.

It works with microSD and microSDHC cards (microSDHC = High Capacity microSD cards with capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB).

It looks like the loop hole where it ties on is part of the circuit card structure, not some cheap metal tab.

The Kingston microSD Memory Card Reader is tiny! It's about as long and as wide as the distal phalange of my pinkie, so you might want to attach it to your keychain or backpack (it comes with a key ring), or risk losing it!

Pros
----
- It's tiny (it's a double-edged sword).

- It works with microSD and microSDHC cards (microSDHC = High Capacity microSD cards with capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB).

- It's 100% reliable - I use it with my 8GB Kingston microSDHC Class 4 cards with no problems whatsoever.

- With a microSD or microSDHC card, you can use it in lieu of a flash drive.

Some people might find it hard to get the microSD card out of such a tiny device. I personally don't find it to be terribly difficult to remove the card from the slot at all. The tail end of the microSD card is slightly raised so you can grab it with your fingernails to pull it out of the slot. The microSD looks fragile but they're built more sturdy than you might think (I've never broken one yet)!

---
The Kingston USB 2.0 microSD works perfectly. Amazon offers the same reader (black) for sale with free shipping (for purchases 25 and above) - so if you're planning on spending at least that much on a single transaction, you might as well head on over here for a better deal.

I got this to add music for a gps that is capable of playing music. I got the mini card with adapters and my daughter has a mini card for her camera and phone. This reader is perfect! Easy to use and doesn't take up space for a gadget! As technology progresses it's nice to see that small, handy things are available at a very reasonable price

Not sure what measurements were used to create this card reader - both card readers would not easily fit in the USB port , had to use force, and then had problems pulling it out - the string broke off while trying to pull it out of the USB port. Tried it on three different computers same result - very disappointed

This is my second one of these. I have a black one that came with a microSDHC card.

I wanted a second reader so i could keep a spare card on my keychain. I had a thumb drive by they are so big, physically that is. I wanted something smaller. I didn't want to use my current microSDHC adapter as I needed to keep one at home.

I bought some cheap off brand, and it ws cheap in both price and qaulity, worked only once and the carry sting broke too while trying to make it function.

I should have known and stuck with what works.

My other Kingston has not failed me in two years although I have not used it that much.

As others have said, this one is small, but that is why I chose it. It is about the thinkness of two keys, but not as long, half the length of a thumb. So for carrying it on your keys it is not too bulky. It's always handy when I go anywhere to bring home some file, data or picture.

It may not be as water resistant as a rubber coated thumb drive, but then its usually in my pocket or hand, not exposed to the rain.

I've only used it with a Kingston 4GB microSDHC card, but it function well with that.

Card insertion/removal is easy, it is not too tight, but snug enough that the card won't just fall out.

I like the carry string, it seems more securly mounted than that cheap brand was. It looks like the loop hole where it ties on is part of the circuit card structure, not some cheap metal tab. I think it is a good design and will last.

Great Micro SD card reader that plugs into your usb very useful. I just wish they made that ring that attaches it to your keychain a little stonger cause my first one broke off.

This card reader is very small and portable. It is exactly what I was looking for. It is barely bigger than a micro-SD card and requires no adapter.
