5.0 out of 5 stars WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, I love these guys. Life on a Plate changed my life. When I first learned to skate, my favorite CD to skate to was Life on a Plate. It always got me pumped up like crazy. Pennybridge Pioneers changed my life. This CD was incredible, it really had so much great. Anthems of my life. Anyhow, Home from Home made me very very sad. One of my favorite bands had...

3.0 out of 5 stars Another solid one from Sweden's finest
For years, Millencolin was my favourite band because of strong releases such as Same Old Tunes, Life on a Plate, and For Monkeys, but they grew up and changed their sound after their hiatus during which they released The Melancholy Collection. Their next album, Pennybridge Pioneers, showed the start of their evolution while Home From Home was a great follow-up which...

One of my favorite bands had finally released a CD I was dissappointed in. Guess it was about time, but I was so accustommed to their previous greatness that it was a little shocking. Anyhow, to get to the matter at hand. This CD, from my first listen, is AWESOME. AWESOME. AWESOME. These guys are so freakn great. It was like getting back together with an old friend and talking about the good old times we'd shared. Playing this CD finally gave me some great new tunes to listen to and obsess over this summer. Thank you Millencolin, I should have never doubted you. When everyone turns to screamo, Millencolin expands on their sound while still staying true to their beginngings. Sweden rules, USA could learn much from you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album!, April 16, 2006
This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
This cd is a great cd to start listening to milencolin. almost all of the songs on the album are hits in my book. "ray", "stalemate' And "cash or clash" are really great, but the best song would have to be "shut you out". It takes a break from all the loud, fast stuff and shows that millencolin can make great music w/o being to loud. Iwould recommend either this album or "the melancholy collection" to start you off listening to millencolin.

4.0 out of 5 stars A step up from Home From Home but still missing something, November 30, 2005
This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
Well this was one record I was really looking forward to for 2005 besides pennywise's new album. Being the long time Millencolin fan that I am I knew I would automatically purchase it and give the cd a start-to-end listen about a dozen times but did it touch me the way Pennybrige Pioneers or Life On A Plate did? No. And a big no at that. The only reason I've given this a 4 star rating instead of 2 or 3 is because of Biftek Supernova and Simple Twist of Hate, these two songs reminding me of the older, faster and more punk millencolin.

Either way, get this album. Not necissarily the best album they've written but like i said, it's definately worth a listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kudos, June 15, 2005

I am into heavy music, such as RATM, Metallica and Audioslave, but ever since being hooked in by Penguins and Polar Bears on TV, me and my brother have turned into massive fans, owning all the albums except the japanese extras. Admittedly, Home From Home was a little disappointing but it's still an album i can listen to the whole way through and enjoy. THIS on the other hand, is a GREAT album.

Continuing their progression into a real punk rock band, the album has some great riffs (Birdie), clever guitarring (Novo) and the usual funny yet intelligent lyrics (Mooseman's Jukebox).

Definitely worth a listen, Millencolin are continuing to move forwards but without forgetting where they've come from, and their maturity shows with some clever and effective backing vocals.

Cheers guys, keep up the good work, can't wait for the next album!!!! Just one point, why degrade yourselves and tour with Good Charlotte?!? Oh well....

5.0 out of 5 stars great return to form, April 12, 2005

I have to start by saying I was let down by Home From Home in a big way. It just felt to me like it was lacking in quality songs. Kingwood erases those disappointments by rocking hard from start to finish with catchy-as-hell songs and Nikola's best lyrics yet. Obviously they're still Nikola's lyrics so they're going to be a bit goofy, but they're from the heart and I think they're his most personal yet (aside from his solo album maybe). There's a couple fast tunes that remind me of the good old days, but the midtempo songs are not lacking in energy either. All around it's a great effort and although I can't put it in the same class as For Monkeys or Life on a Plate (yet, anyway), it is an excellent album and I whole-heartedly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another solid one from Sweden's finest, April 12, 2005

For years, Millencolin was my favourite band because of strong releases such as Same Old Tunes, Life on a Plate, and For Monkeys, but they grew up and changed their sound after their hiatus during which they released The Melancholy Collection. Their next album, Pennybridge Pioneers, showed the start of their evolution while Home From Home was a great follow-up which supported the sound of Pennybridge Pioneers.

Their newest album, Kingwood, continues this evolution while remaining reminiscent of their old sound which many fans are worried might never come back. While it surely doesn't sound as much like their first three releases as many had hoped, Kingwood represents Millencolin's maturity as a band and ties in with their last two albums as another solid trilogy. However, as decent as this album is, it leaves one looking for more from their latest effort. A couple songs just don't seem to fit on this album and the entire album just feels too short (it's only 34 minutes), but all in all it's a decent album and it leaves me optimistic for their future work. Still, I can't help but hope that they'll return a little bit back to their old sound.

Millencolin remains to be one of my favourite bands to this day and they are still a great band to see live in concert but Kingwood leaves me wanting more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wrong direction, March 13, 2007

This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
First, I'm the biggest MC fan ever. This CD in my opinion is the less amazing, they are going in the wrong direction with tracks like "Ray", that feels so poppy like Blink-182, comon, we don't need that. And tracks like Biftek Supernova, they are fast and hard like the tracks in Life On a Plate but for some reason they don't feel that way, it's just not as good as those tracks, they just don't, it's seems that something is missing or something. Some tracks that I Love: Stalemate, My Name Is Golden and Shut You Out. Hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars only going forward, August 4, 2006
This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
millencolin is one of the best bands representing multiple genres. while people are analyzing songs individually they fail to notice that every millencolin cd has stepped back in certain aspects all the while advancing in other ways. you can obviously tell these guys skate it comes off on the way their music operates. its great uplifting melodic punk, all their albums have incredible longetivity which draws you to listen to their albums repeatedly years after their release. buy kingwood youll love it and itll make you feel great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, but no cigar, April 17, 2005
This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
Well, to me, this one for sure wasint there best, but still very good. I felt that after PennyBridge, they started to lose a little bit of touch. But there still very good and still my favorite band. So if you have time and money, do yourself a favor and buy this album, but buy penny bridge before, because it is much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, May 15, 2005
This review is from: Kingwood (Dig) (Audio CD)
I really like Millencolin but Home From Home was...bad. There were like 4 good songs on there. But there was potential and that's why I got Kingwood and man is it an amazing cd. The songs actually sound different from eachother and they're just really catchy and much more punk than Home From Home. I really like every song on here the best are probably "Supernova" or "Novo"
