I have reviewed perhaps a dozen or more powerbanks over the last 6 months, but this Kinivio EBT5X stands tall among the pack.

It's not got the most capacity, nor does it have a 2.1A output, or multiple USB outputs. So why do I like it so much? Because it is the perfect size for easy pocketability. Plus it has a very durable and easily handled case with a tab-protected USB output. But the real clincher is that while some powerbanks give you a wimpy little single LED flashlight that doesn't really provide much useable light, this one packs a punch with a dual-LED flashlight that provides some serious lumens for lighting your way.

I turned the flashlight on and let it run continuously until the battery was depleted. after 12 hours it was still going strong and I went to bed. 6 hours later it was dead and had stopped some time during gthe night. I'm ghoing to estimate that the flashlight ran for approx 15 hours which is impressive.

The power bank recharged in less than 6 hours from a powered USB hub.

The EBT5X is charged by a micro USB port, located just to the left of the 5V/1A USB output port. I like that the USB port has got a cover on it. That cover prevents dust and junk from getting into the USB port.

Specifications
Battery: 5200mAh Li-ion
Input: DC 5V/1A
Output: 5V/1A (max)
Dimensions: 4.25 x 1.75 x 1"
Weight: 4.69oz
USB to micro USB Cable: 37"

Included with the powerbank is a good long USB to microUSB charging cable that is 37" in length. Note that this is a charging cable only and will not support data transfer if you attempt to use it for connecting a peripheral to your computer such as a USB hard drive.

I bought this battery because I have to spend long stretches of time away from any kind of outlet or my car because of my job, and I was expecting to maybe eke out an extra hour or two at the end of the day. (which is when my phone normally dies off and when I need it most.) I also was sure the flashlight would be somewhat gimmicky.

I couldn't have been more wrong. On a full charge this thing will completely refill my phone more than twice over. And the flashlight is very bright and doesn't seem to drain the power noticeably. In addition the product has a nice and solid feel to it. I am going to buy another to stress test it, but I feel I could bash it around without impairing functionality.

I recommend it for anyone who has to work away from an office, military, campers, and people who just like gadgets. At 19.99 how could you go wrong?

Sorry about this, I have to gush over this flashlight. Oh no, I mean lithium ion battery device charger. This Kinivo battery is just too darn cool.

There are so many rechargeable lithium ion batteries designed to charge up a USB device. They all seem to use about the same batteries, and all have similar capacity. The differences between them are the little things. How is the battery charged? What kind of outputs does it have? What is the case made out of? The shape of the case? Does it have to be turned on to start charging a device? Will it charge an iPad or other high amperage device? And what other goodies did the manufacturer pack with the battery?

Well Kinivo did something special with this battery. They used a nice standard 5200 mAh battery that will charge an iPhone several times and fully charge an iPad once. Super nice capacity. The port they chose for charging, I can tolerate, but don't like too much - a micro USB connector. The great news, the battery can be charged with any USB port or AC adapter (you probably have a few laying around, like that tiny iPhone charger). You probably also have a spare micro USB cable lying around (if you don't, no matter the battery comes with one). The bad news, I hate this plug, it is fiddly to use and can be broken by forcing the plug upside down (pretty easy to get the orientation mixed up).

The charging port is on the rear of the battery. Next to it is a tethered black plastic cap that covers the USB port. Nice standard USB port, any USB cable can be plugged into this, the iPhone 5 adapter, the iPhone 30 pin connector, a USB mini or micro adapter, or even a Nokia or Samsung USB to minijack adapter.

The battery starts charging the moment it is plugged into the device.

I use this to charge my Galaxy S3 and my Nexus tablet. Charges very fast and what a great little flashlight it has built in also. Great when travelling never have to worry about wear you can charge your phone. It will charge my phone to 100% 5 times before I have to plug in the charger. A must have product for the money you can't beat this charger. Highly recommend this charger.

As a gadget lover (with smartphones, tablets, and laptops), I was looking for a reasonably priced, high capacity power bank with a decent flashlight built in. After perusing through pages of products on Amazon, I decided to order this one after seeing the video review.

Normally I do not care about the product box, but the one that comes with this power bank is nice. It has a magnetic flap closure, and inside the box are the power bank, a soft carrying pouch, a microUSB charge-only cable (for faster charging of USB devices), and instructions. Very well done, Kinivo!

As for the power bank, I did not expect the flashlight to be so bright considering it's a secondary function, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The flashlight is bright enough for general purpose and emergency use. The design of the power bank is ergonomic, and the interface simple to use, and hopefully I'll never need to use the SOS torch mode that is included in the flashlight.

This power bank gives me confidence that my mobile device will last a couple of days when I'm traveling, and the flashlight will come in handy as well. I'm so pleased with this product I'm ordering more to have around.
