Operating Instructions
To turn on the speaker, simply press and hold the red strip under the Power button for 5 seconds. The blue LED will start blinking to indicate that the speaker is ready to use. To play music, simply connect the 3.5 mm connector on the bottom of the speaker to your mp3/music device and start playing music.

Well, it just came as we were heading out to the beach for the week and I wanted to get it before we left. Nice packaging and everything is simple to use. I wish the cable was a little heavier, but for under $20-- no complaints. It is nice that you can charge it and use it at the same time which is something others cannot do. As far as sound, I chose to just get one to use with an iPod or my Blackberry with Pandora. I plugged it in to charge it and turned it on, no surprises which is a good sign. As far as the sound quality it is very good for what it is. Did I expect anything great, no but it is damn good and this is with me being particular with how I like things to sound. With the top open and the bellows extended, the sound is full and I can actually feel the bass on the table. Vocals are also good and it is also can play loud without distortion and is *exactly* what I was looking for. Do I need stereo? No, it is the beach and really doesn't matter as it is about having fun and being able to carry this along will simply rock.

As long as it holds up and works reliably I will be thrilled.

UPDATE: Well it has survived a week at the beach as well as a couple nights at the pool. Everyone that sees it can't believe that such a small speaker can sound, well, so "big". Battery life is simply excellent and when hooked to my iPod Nano--- it is the ultimate micro package. It is cool when someone smiles when they see it as it has that cool/ funky/ gotta have gadget that blows away having to drag around anything larger. Don't get me wrong, bigger products will sound bigger and better, but how many can fit in a pocket???

This little speaker came for free as part of an Amazon offer. Because it was free, I did not expect much from it, so it well exceeded my expectation. Although I got it free, would I be interested in paying for it? Yes, I think it's worth it if you're looking for a portable speaker for your mobile device.

Pros:
* Small (about the size of laptop mouse)
* Good volume (hooked this up to my iPhone and the volume filled my small bedroom)
* Lithium ion batter (so convenient/cost-saving to not have to buy AA/AAA batteries)
* Bass (I'm not an audiophile, but the bass for such a small device is impressive)
* Genius design (you have to "open" it to use it and apparently you can connect multiple of these in a series)
* Connector built-in (the 3.5mm audio is attached to the device and can be hidden on the bottom)
* Solid build
* Looks cool :)

Would be nice to have:
* a retractable mini usb for charging
* no hissing sound if there's silence in the stream (not loud enough to annoy you though, still...)
* buttons easier to press
* some way to see what your volume level is

I received these and they work great. The only problem is that the directions don't tell you to hold down the "power on " button until the light comes on. After you figure that out they work great and have great sound unlike the other set this company sell. Stick with this speaker, don't buy the SP100 mini twin speakers. Don't do like me and think twin is better than single!! The doubles did not work at all, but this speaker is a great little carry around speaker.
