We've been gluten free and yeast free for a few years now. In the beginning we couldn't find a bread that resembled "real" bread. Then we tried this mix. The first week we had it we went into bread overload - made french toast, toast and eggs, sandwiches, everything we'd been wanting for the last few years. It was wonderful. I fill mini baking dishes, sprinkle it with sesame seed and use it to make hamburger buns. We prefer it hot from the oven or toasted for sandwiches, Very simple, too, just add water (that's it) beat for 3 minutes in mixer and you have 2 loaves of bread 40 minutes later. Just spent the day driving around to our local health food stores for it but they were all out. Amazon's cheaper anyway and has free shipping on this item.

I make this bread with a mixer and 9-1/4" x 5-1/4" x 2-3/4" loaf pan.
I usually only make 1/2 the bag- one loaf about every three days. I have learned that you can have complete control over how it turns out. This bread has the texture of a pound cake. All you have to do is add water to the mix. If you add the mix directly to the water, stir only slightly and place in the loaf pan, you will get a very short loaf (about half the height of the pan). It has all the nutrients of the full loaf, but more likely to be eaten by young children. A small sandwich fits in a Zip-Lock snack bag. However, if you mix the water for a while to add air to the water before adding the mix, it will rize above the loaf pan, making full-size sandwhich bread like you would buy at the store. It has more protein and fiber than most bread you can buy and with the "Subscribe and Save" program, spend less per loaf than you would for whole wheat bread at the grocery store. If sliced thin, you can easily get 20 slices.

I'm so happy to see Kinnikinnick products listed with Amazon grocery. I've been buying them from my food co-op and local health food store. This bread mix is amazing. So easy to use, so quick; and the bread is delicious. And it holds up in a sandwich!!! It has a wonderful texture: slightly bland taste is enhanced by toasting or heating it. But I'm not knocking the taste: bland is better than the cardboardy taste of some gluten free products. And the bread's texture makes up for it. So many gluten free breads are too crumbly to use in a sandwich. This bread isn't. Thank you Amazon for making this product available.
