5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview
This book is an excellent overview for the study of Susan Reiseman's book Kinsey, Crimes, and Consequences. It is repetitive in parts, but that can be a good thing.

It is a book that should be read by all taxpayers and educators. One can then better understand how blatant porn and sexual attitude restructuring (SAR) came into the classroom via SIECUS and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good material but not much of a book (more like a tract)
This book ... well its not really a book, but more like a super-pamphlet - is very shocking. Actually, it is only shocking for those unfamiliar with the "research" of Kinsey. To put it mildly, Kinsey was a perverted, troubled soul who disguised his odd desires as "research." Now I am a researcher, so I know how people can falsify data, selectively report results, and...

This book is an excellent overview for the study of Susan Reiseman's book Kinsey, Crimes, and Consequences. It is repetitive in parts, but that can be a good thing.

It is a book that should be read by all taxpayers and educators. One can then better understand how blatant porn and sexual attitude restructuring (SAR) came into the classroom via SIECUS and has been normalized or mainstreamed into the populace.

Rape victims and their advocates, and victims of child sexual abuse really need to know how the Model Penal Code was developed using Kinsey's flawed "scientific" research, thus leaving the abuser free to do it again, and again, and again.

This book ... well its not really a book, but more like a super-pamphlet - is very shocking. Actually, it is only shocking for those unfamiliar with the "research" of Kinsey. To put it mildly, Kinsey was a perverted, troubled soul who disguised his odd desires as "research." Now I am a researcher, so I know how people can falsify data, selectively report results, and so on and so forth. But the people who had oversight into Kinsey's work should all have been brought up on criminal charges. For example, Kinsey reported on the sexuality of adolescents, citing things like how children could obtain multiple orgasms etc. Didn't anybody ask how he got this data? This research would be considered criminal behavior. I know that the oversight committees at the university where I work would have a heart attack if I presented to them work even resembling Kinsey's in terms of study design, methodology, and scope.

In all, the book is very brief and very repetitive. It opens with 20 important questions on Kinsey and his work. But then the author describes essentially the same thing in the rest of the book, so that you could read the first 20 pages or so and throw out the rest of the book. Many of the sentences are identical between the questions section and the descriptions. That makes for one annoying book.

But the information content is too important to ignore. For those who know nothing about Kinsey, or the work of Dr. Judith Reisman, this is a very brief and informative read, so Id give about 4 stars for that. But if you already know about these topics, this book is a waste of time and Id give it 2 stars. I suggest that you go look at Dr. Reisman's work instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview and intended to only be an overview, August 4, 2007
By
This review is from: The Kinsey Corruption (Paperback)
This book provides an excellent overview of Kinsey, his research and his influence in the past and present. The book is not intended to be deep or exhaustive. If you already have knowledge of Kinsey, this is likely not the book for you. Those that claim the book is shallow and short of documentation should re-read the "Author's note" on page six. Brinkmann states at the outset that if people want greater detail, they should read Dr. Judith Reisman's work "Kinsey: Crimes and Consequences", "in which all quotations and references are thoroughly documented."

To those who think that being religious disqualifies one from speaking clearly and intelligently on sexual issues, I encourage you to look into the teachings of the Catholic Church on sexuality and marriage. Once one clearly understands the Christian view of sexuality and the fundamental Christian beliefs that sexual activity is good, designed by God and should be a total gift of self to one's spouse (instead of a means for self gratification), then one can offer an informed critique of the Christian position. The unfortunate reality is that many people who claim to be Christian do not actually live by the teachings of Christ. Don't be dissuaded by poor representatives of Christianity. Look to those who live their Catholic faith properly (those who actually follow the teachings of Christ) and let that help inform your understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, October 22, 2006
This review is from: The Kinsey Corruption (Paperback)
I am amazed at the negative reviews here. Brinkman has definitely hit a nerve with people who want to justify their "diversity". If they want to really froth at the mouth they should read Theology of the Body!

I hold a Ph.D. from an Ivy League university and worked as a researcher for many years. My background and credentials are solid. So much for the critic above's claim that this is for stupid naive people in the dark ages. Certain truths have always existed and always will-why do people like this always think they are more enlightened and advanced than everyone else? Why do people try to justify perversion by redefining it? Sin is sin.

Brinkman is competent and courageous.

that they are based on a lie and that lie is Kinsey. Although this book could go into greater detail, it gives the basis to prove Kinsey's so called research was based on a lie and we are paying for it now. Look for alot more debunking of the Father of Modern Perversion in the future.

1.0 out of 5 stars The first premise wrong with this book is...., August 5, 2007
By
This review is from: The Kinsey Corruption (Paperback)
The first premise wrong with this book is the idea that "forty years ago morality in America has been in a state of rapid decline..." - morality in America has always been about the same, ambiguous at best. Also, the association of morality and sexual practice is virtually evil, cutting people off from a big part of their personalities. The idea that America is a moral nation is another big evil; this is only a cherished ideal that has never been a reality, and certainly a huge impediment to getting on with living a life with real goodness to our fellow human beings and living an authentic life. Being reactionary (to Kinsey and other similar ideas) and to negate is, in fact, satanic (to hold you to your own notions) - actually, this is the one trademark of conservatives (and many Republicans): the spirit of negation and their savage need to condemn and judge.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not really a book., April 15, 2007

This reads like a propaganda piece. It is relentless, falacious, and the points made about the flaws in Kinsey's methods are drowned out in rhetoric.

The Kinsey Report was a flawed study. Modern culture is often perverse and even horrifying.

BUT the two have nothing to do with each other and the author of this book is nonsensical. Rather than trying to defend her moral, Christian, heterosexual way of life, she has spent her life attacking a decades-old report. It's a sturdy old windmill, that Kinsey Report.

I'm glad I was leant this book and exercised the judgement of not buying it.

1.0 out of 5 stars One sided, October 18, 2006
This review is from: The Kinsey Corruption (Paperback)
Yes, there are flaws in Kinsey's statistics and sometimes his methods were unethical. These two problems still exist today. But I think this book goes too far. There are no references to back up the "facts". It was written by a journalist with no credentials except that she is on a lifetime crusade to repress people's sexuality. It is published by Ascension Press, a religious publisher. Of course it is going to denounce his work. This publisher represents people who live by the bible and Kinsey's research does not follow the bible. So why does that make it wrong? I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone with a brain.

So many poorly backed shots are taken at Kinsey that the author loses total credibility. If you are looking for a poorly written work of fiction, then buy this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars ridiculous BS, January 4, 2006
This review is from: The Kinsey Corruption (Paperback)
This book is utter crap. If you want to go back back to the dark ages, you'll love it. If you believe in science, biology, diversity, and human progress, read Dr. Kinsey's real work and leave this attack from the religious right where it belongs - on the dung heap.
