This is my second "child" backpack although I am so not a child I wanted something with good storage and not too big. I am 5"1. I use it mainly for long walks with both of my dogs, the storage compartments are really nice I am able to carry their water canteen, tennis balls,my cell phone and a few extras. And very comfortable to carry, even with some weight. I highly recommend this product
