Great Information, Easy Read, Cut and Dry
I picked this book up for a coupe bucks at a used book store. It had a lot of practical knowledge, hence the title. Kiplinger's Guide to Investing, March 29, 2000
This review is from: Kiplinger's Practical Guide to Investing (Hardcover)
A good introduction to saving and investing. Covers a broad range of subjects from CDs, IRAs, mutual funds, stocks, bonds, tax implications of investing, etc. Good first book for those who don't even know where to start. Provides suggestions on how to personalize your own investment plan and match your needs and goals. Simply and lucidly written. Hits many topics and provides fairly conservative and realistic advice. Provides little specific advice and where to put money. Instead it teaches the reader how do the research needed to invest wisely.

Great Information, Easy Read, Cut and Dry, November 14, 2011
This review is from: Kiplinger's Practical Guide to Investing (Hardcover)
I picked this book up for a coupe bucks at a used book store. It had a lot of practical knowledge, hence the title. As a very broad book on finance, it introduces various investment routes and personal finance strategies including: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, foreign markets, real estate, mortgages, precious metals, taxes, investing for children, investing for retirement, choosing a broker, etc. It's a book for those with beginner finance knowledge and funds that are looking to invest. It's very cut and dry, which is good if you want to sift through information fast or look up ideas, but I didn't find it enjoyable to read.
