Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-K?Lovable Kipper is back, this time in four concept books. The beauty of these titles is in their simplicity?bright primary colors and simple forms make them very appealing. In Colors, the brown-and-white dog flies a blue kite and eats red strawberries. In Numbers, he feeds four hens and digs holes with six moles. Opposites captures the happy-faced pup with a big balloon and his sad expression when it pops. Weather shows him basking in the sun and splashing in the rain. The lively watercolor illustrations lend themselves to simple one-on-one interaction or to use in toddler story hour. While concept books abound, Inkpen's engaging character and clear, clean presentations make these charming offerings stand above the crowd.?Helen Rosenberg, Chicago Public Library, IL

My son and I love all the Kipper books, but this is anespecially nice one that led him to develop his own signs for rain andhail. Great as a "rainy day" or "snowy day" book when you can't go outside to play.

the Kipper books are all great and we especially love the little board book series (counting/numbers, colors, weather, opposites). For under age three I think you can't go wrong with these. If you are also doing early reading skills- these books are AWESOME. Calming but fun, colorful but clear, the illustrations are enjoyable for child and parent. Each page has one easy to read word on it. These are excellent first reading books.

This ones opens up communication about types of weather your child might not even now about yet (includes fog, hail), so they feel comfortable when they do experience it. Ends with a rainbow so you can practice colors too.

Our twin 2 year old daughters love Kipper and enjoy this book! This is a great simple board book with one word per page describing weather condition. The illustrations are very cute. I add explanations to each weather condition. The book is a favorite and gets requested often.
