5.0 out of 5 stars Good clean fun.
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble is very fun and the new 'tilt' feature is very neat. It is easy to master and this game is great to play. It is a classic game- defeat 'baddies' and finish the level. The color is superior. There are five mini- games. All are pretty fun. This is a cute game and will provide endless enjoyment with over 30 levels, this will not become boring anytime...

3.0 out of 5 stars I leaned the hard way
This is a really fun game, and the graphics and sound are great... only problem is that is is not GBA SP compatible (I don't know about regular GBA). It loads fine and looks good, but because it works on a motion sensor chip, and GBC cards point down, and GBA SP cards point up, up is down and down is up, and right is left and left is right. You COULD learn to compensate...

It is probably my favorite game- and I haven't even had it for a day yet. I would recommend this game to anyone who (a) likes Kirby (b) wants to try the tilt feature, or (c) wants a fun challenge without violence. This game proves you can have a great game without violene. This will easily become a million seller. You should get this game. I know I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The kids might not like it..., April 13, 2001
This review is from: Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (Game Cartridge)
This is a pretty hard game to get used to. It might frustrate young gamers. It also cause some pain in the neck and wrists if you play for an extended period of time. It's tough to get enough light onto the screen. I've had the best luck playing by window light or under a chandelier. It's tricky to play on a plane or bus trip, though.

You control kirby by tilting the system and moving him though pinball-like mazes. Sound ho-hum, but it's anything but. The thing is, the tilt features works like a charm, and once you get used to it, you've got total control and it's just a blast to play. The mazes are fiendishly designed to test your skills. There are bosses, mini-games and bonus levels. What more could you want? Well, I was a little disapointed by the fact that you never get a chance to use kirby's ability-stealing power (like in his previous adventures)but, I guess it's a different sort of game. Definitely one of the best GBC games ever, with great graphics, innovative control and challenging level designs. I dig the pink cartridge, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars one word- fun, April 29, 2001

I had read about the game, and decided to get it. The game is great, grab the GBC and prepare for what games are supposed to be--pure and simple fun. The tilt sensor is VERY acurate, a small inclination will make kirby move slowly, a steep one... well you get the idea. to jump you flick the GBC up and watch kirby go. The mini game are real fun. I specially like "Kirby's chicken race" kirby get's on a car, and you have to shake the GBC for a small amount of time to acumulate power and then kirby rushes to a cliff, if you shake the GBC too much, you fall, and you have to get as near the edge as possible. Well, this is enough, get the game, and if you feel bothered when people watch you shake, jump and move around with your GBC, play it in your room, alone. Believe me, you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Kirby Tilt n' Tumble, May 9, 2001
This review is from: Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (Game Cartridge)
This game is really fun it will appeal to people of all age groups especially those who own all three of the previous kirby gaames like me.The new tilt feature is really cool and really makes the game so much more interesting, the graphics of the enemies are good and the sound is of an okay quality. If there is a major flaw it's in the gameboy colour itself, rather than the game for having a screen that need's lots of sunlight. But all in all a very good game and a good price considering it costs less than many other tacky games out at the moment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Game, April 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (Game Cartridge)
I just got this game today its cute. The tilt concept is interesting. Game boy games can be hard to see without good lighting and with this game having to be tilted and turned all the time makes it even harder to see without even more light. A worm light helps but it bounces around when you bounce the gameboy. If you like kirby and want something different this is a great game. The ice pink cardridge is also very cute

You COULD learn to compensate for this, but what a pain!

If, though, GBA regular loads cards the way GBC does, it should make a great addition to your collection. If you have GBA SP, and no GBC, I can't recommend it. Of course, you can get a GBC for $10. at GameStop, if you really want to play this particular game. It is a pretty nifty game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tilt & Tumble Technology = Cool!, December 31, 2001
This review is from: Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (Game Cartridge)
Kirby's Tilt & Tumble for Gameboy Color is a truly unique game. In addition to featuring everyone's favorite puffy pink hero, his home planet of Pop Star, and dozens of cuddly bad guys, Kirby's Tilt & Tumble features unique Tilt Technology, meaning instead of using the directional arrows to control Kirby, simply tilt your gameboy in the direction you want Kirby to roll. To jump, pop the gameboy up. This simplistic controlling makes it great for younger kids and adults alike. The game features eight territories to roll your way through, 3 save slots, and best of all, the cartridge is pink! hehehe...

There are only a few minor setbacks of this game- first of all, it requires steady hands, so it's difficult to play in a car or bus. Another problem is that when tilting the gameboy, screen glare can cause you to lose sight of Kirby, so I recommend using a Worm Light when playing. Another problem is that you must keep the gameboy flat, so you'll have to bend yourself in order to see the screen at times. If you like shoot-em-up fighting and action games, Kirby might be a little too pink and cuddly for your tastes. Nevertheless, it's still a great game, and I recommend adding it to your collection as soon as possible!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great format and design, May 9, 2001

OK, I admit I got the game just because I wanted to see how the tilt worked. I love the top-view tilt format and the flow/design of the game. After years of programming myself NOT to tilt my joy stick and portables around, this is a nice, intuitive way to play. While I tend to go through the levels like a pink bull through a china shop, I can see where someone with more skill could really tweek through the levels picking up everything.

The transparent pink cartridge looks way cool in the atomic purple game boy color, and if she shows any interest, I will buy my niece both for her birthday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!!, April 25, 2001

This is a probably one of the best games on the GBC. The game design is great, the motion sensor tilting is very addictive, battery save (no passwords!!). What more could you ask for! I'm waiting for a motion sensor/rumble pack mix..

4.0 out of 5 stars Tilt N' Tumble - Continuous fun!, December 20, 2003
By
Sam (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (Game Cartridge)
Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is now considered a bit of an "older" game now, but I decided to write this review up anyway, being the experienced gamer with this one game that I am. So, thanks for reading, and I hope this helps you.

Back when GBA came out on the market and was all the rage, I was stuck with my little, hot pink Gameboy Color when everyone else had the sleek new model. I was also a kirby fanatic, and was desperate for a Kirby game. So after some research on the internet, I finally found one - Kirby Tilt N' Tumble. I was disappointed that it wasn't being sold anymore, so finally, for Christmas 2003 my parents bought it for me from eBay, unfortunately just the cartridge and no instructions or box.

I was anxious to get playing right away that morning, so I popped it in and found it was a very easy game to learn. I already new a little about the controls, tilting to move Kirby in the desired direction, and it was nice that whenever I had to learn a new move to advance, the game would pause and teach me. Eventually, I easily learned the whole game without any instructions!

With 5 goofy yet fun mini-games to play, 8 exciting and challenging words to explore, plenty of cute and cuddly bad guys and a simple, easy-to-follow storyline, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a game that doesn't lose its fun anytime soon after buying, versus other games that lose all the fun after you've beat the game. Why, I've owned it for a year already and there's still secret words and warp stars I'm discovering all the time.

Now, there are a few cons I'll warn you about before you go out and spend your money. This isn't the game to bring on that 10-hour car trip to visit Aunt Ruth, because the constant moving in vehicles makes it hard to control Kirby. As well, it's not the kind of game where you can lay back against the pillows, stretch out your feet and sip the lemonade, either. You're always swivelling your body back and forth, side to side, and so forth when tilting your little pink puffball. Not a big deal, but its not just hitting buttons like other games.

I don't have this problem too much, since I usually play in good light, but you may have a hard time keeping an eye on Kirby when you tilt the screen forward and lose sight of him from the light glinting off the screen. Annoying, yes, but the game is still worth it, trust me.

Overall, this game is definitely worth every penny you're paying for it. As long as you don't mind things being cute and cuddly all of the time, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a great gaming experience that will last for months and months after your purchase.
