a good starting place
I have done kirigami before and wanted some new inspiration specifically for valentines day. I got what I wanted in terms of inspiration, but frankly, there is not enough in these books. There are so many more folds and designs that could be shown and illustrated. There are cuts that can be made on a board and not simply done with scissors. I would recommend this series...

This book is the fifth book in a series of eight books. This book is made for sweethearts and Valentine's Day. Kirigami is the Japanese art of cutting paper and all of the designs in this book are made with heart patterns. There are heart shaped cards, flower tags, party decorations, gift decorations, and a favorite of mine, the red fan with heart shapes. This is a wonderful book if you want to teach children the art of Kirigami or use it yourself to send that someone special a piece of your heart.

I have done kirigami before and wanted some new inspiration specifically for valentines day. I got what I wanted in terms of inspiration, but frankly, there is not enough in these books. There are so many more folds and designs that could be shown and illustrated. There are cuts that can be made on a board and not simply done with scissors. I would recommend this series for beginners, but they do not have what it takes to keep a more advanced paper cutter interested.
